Al Roker Reveals His Breastfeeding Secrets On The Today Show

Back before Al Roker had his gastric bypass surgery, he apparently had a feature many of us refer to as "man boobs." According to Al, one early morning at 3AM when he woke up to feed his daughter, she mistook his man boob for a mom boob and went to town. Oops.

"It was before I had lost weight, and uh, I would get up with her for about a 3AM feeding, and I didn't have time to put on a shirt. And, I was getting the bottle, and I was holding Leila. And, all the sudden I kind of felt, whoa! No sweetie, you're not going to get anything out of that [laughs]. But she latched right away."

The embarrassing mishap occurred a few years ago, but the incident came up again as the cast of the Today Show was discussing a new book of parental advice that they compiled recently. It's not immediately obvious what the point of Al Roker's story was -- except to make coffee shoot out of peoples' noses as the laugh at that grizzly mental picture.

Maybe the advice is this: if you've got nipples that are temporarily or permanently out of service, cover them up for the first year or so when your feed the baby. That way, you can avoid those awkward, yet precious, little moments like Al had.

A young Janice Dickinson - yowza!

It's no secret that 53 year old self-proclaimed "America's First Supermodel" Janice DIckinson has had a little nip and tuck.She is now admitting she is addicted to plastic surgery and has spent over $100,000 on it. These quotes made me spit coffee out of my nose this morning though:

"Believe me, I'm a 900-year-old dinosaur and without 14 inches of make-up and 32 pounds of fake weave I wouldn't look the way I do. I want to be the best-looking corpse there is.

"I'm honest about it, I haven't got a problem with it. I borrow bits from everyone. Every six months I fly to Dallas to get Botox and I also get collagen injections. I'm addicted to cosmetic surgery."

Just last week, Janice was on Today talking about how glad she was her daughter isn't into modelling, all the while calling Tyra Banks fat and defending Jennifer Love Hewitt. At least she is honest about herself too.

Tongue in cheek on The Today Show, Janice Dickinson jokingly calls Tyra Banks fat, and says some sensible things about body image, weight and nutrition as well. She's grateful her 13 year old daughter Savannah is "into academics" and "Thank God she doesn't want to be a model."

This is the same woman who spoke the truth of Kevin Federline and Britney Spears in 2006: “I never found him hot at all. But she’s a hick anyway. She needs to get hot again. Stop clomping around in those Malibu flip-flops,” Dickinson told The Book Standard. Dickinson, whose book “Check Please: Mating, Dating, and Extricating” comes out next month, said she’d like to give Spears a makeover. “I would tar and feather her first of all, tell her to dump that [bleeping] hick husband of hers. She needs solid advice, and not from Hicksville.”

I just don't know what to think of Bindi Irwin. She's, like, totally adorable, of course, and the loss of her father was heartbreaking, but am I the only one who thinks that she might be teetering just a leetle too closely to the edge of overexposure? If all the appearances and performances and clothing line and videos and talk of movie offers weren't enough to qualify her for the Lindsay/Britney Pre-Trainwreck Training School For Girls, the fact that she's released a hip-hop single and now has her own troupe of gay back-up dancers would probably suffice.

And her recent performance on The Today Show doing the white-girl rap with said dancers would likely get her early admission, no questions asked. (See video here.)

Sample lyric: "I'm afraid of grizzly bears/ But don't you see/ Grizzly bears should be afraid of me." No, sweetie. Afraid for you.

Bindi Irwin Declines Movie Offers From Hollywood

Bindi Irwin has her own clothing line, TV show, exercise tape (what?) and now, an offer for a movie deal. This 8 year old is nothing short of amazing and is doing a great job of carrying on in her father's footsteps. While critics say she is doing too much for her young age, she is loving it and keeps her mission in mind: “I’m just being me,” she told TODAY’s Al Roker on Wednesday. “And it’s really nice to get that wildlife conservation message out.”

Bindi was coy when asked about the movie deal: “That’s the rumor,” Irwin told Roker. “We pass everything on to our producer and tell him, whatever comes along, be very appreciative and say, ‘No.’

“I really heard it’s all about my mum and my little brother, Robert, and animals,” she offered. It sounded as though she was interested in doing a movie and that "No" could turn into "Yes." The Sydney papers are reporting a "No" at this time however.

Mom Terri was asked how she keeps Bindi grounded in light of all this attention. Turns out Bindi gets that humble pie from her Dad. “She’s so much like him. She’s tough on the outside and tender on the inside,” she told Roker. “She’s got a real empathy for all wildlife, and I think it’s really important now that we realize that humanitarian issues are so intrinsically linked with our environment. Bindi’s bringing that message to a whole new generation.”

Where in the World is Matt Lauer? Probably With His Kids.

Matt Lauer claims to be amongst the cheesiest of dads. That is saying something. We're quite the cheesy lot.

In a recent interview with Good Housekeeping, Matt dishes about his role as a father and the balancing act that his career requires. He claims that his favorite moment of the day is sitting down to dinner with his family.

That's my favorite time too. I love how the kids whine about their food and refuse to eat, and then my wife goes on and on about her job, having to yell in order to be heard above said whining. All the while I sit there, stone-faced and sullen, staring into the wall and enjoying a High Life. Hell yeah, dinner rules.

When asked how he relaxes he responded:

The truth is I unwind with my kids. Eighty percent of the time, I’m the one giving them baths. It’s not a chore, it’s 15 minutes of real quality time. Then the kids pick a book, and we have story time before bed. Those are the things that I look forward to the most.

What he doesn't mention is the other 20% when he gets to unwind by his own rules. He gets to surf the web, play some XBOX, watch some SportsCenter and drink all the whisky he wants. Now that's relaxing.
