Dirk Nowitzki's Jailed Fiance Is Pregnant

Dirk Nowitzki has a little bit more to worry about than just a crazy stalker.

The chick he sent to jail for breaking into his house is, or at least was, his fiance. Now she definitely knows that she is pregnant with Dirk's baby.

Or at least she's claiming it's Dirk's baby.

According to the Dallas Morning News: Taylor said their engagement was broken off when Nowitzki's longtime German coach encouraged a prenuptial agreement and a background check (better late than never). Nowitzki changed his phone number and hasn't contacted Taylor since her arrest on May 6th, but it doesn't sound like he'll be getting off that easily. "Now I'm pregnant and alone and broke because he is my only source of income," Taylor said.

He has quite a mess to clean up in the off-season. I hope everything works out, that is quite a situation to bring a new life into.

Good ol' Sydney Bristow doesn't stay sharp by sitting her ass on the couch drinking Guinness, that's for sure. That's MY job.

Jennifer Garner seems like one of the most likeable people on the planet. I think that it's the dimples, and also the fact that she carries that adorable child around with her wherever she goes. Oh, and also that she was Sidney Bristow, super-spy, but still managed to convey the vibe that she would much rather be having lattes with her girlfriends than dashing around the planet fighting evil-doers with super-hot men, 'cause she's just an ordinary girl, you know?

Now, she's one of Glamour Magazine's Women Of The Year, and she still seems like she'd be totally cool to hang out with. Glamour actually asked her if she really is as nice as she seems, and she was all, like, yeah, but I can still be an asshole, which I think is an excellent answer.

GLAMOUR: Your press is impeccable. Your fans adore you. Do you have a dark side, or are you a goody-goody?
JENNIFER GARNER: You totally called me out. I am a bit of a goody-goody. Not that there aren’t times when I think, I was kind of an asshole today. I work in a world in which people are really catered to; someone will come up to me and say, “Is it OK if this person’s makeup is done before yours for the premiere?” Right now Ben’s in Africa studying malaria and visiting slums with a lack of potable water and maternity wards where many women have HIV. So would I really put my energy into worrying that I’m second to get my makeup done? When you think about the bigger picture, it’s hard to not have some perspective.

I love that she thinks she's an asshole sometimes. I'm an asshole sometimes, too. Okay, a lot of the time. Still, I totally wish that she'd be my friend. Is that creepy?

So You Think You Can Mom? Jen Garner Pitches Mom-Centric TV Show, Pisses Off Dozens

I really like Jennifer Garner. I'll admit, I have difficulty distinguishing between the real Jen Garner and Sidney Bristow, the kick-ass character that she played on Alias, so maybe I'm transferring my affections for that fictional character onto a woman whose acting career peaked with a television series and who has really, really dubious taste in men, but whatever. I like her. She looks like a nice person. And that baby - way cute.

But I was a little put off by the news that she's working with one of the producers of "So You Think You Can Dance" to pitch a new television talk show for mothers. So, as it happens, was my Babble colleague Alisyn, who wrote this:

"Perfect. Parenting advice by and for the rich and famous. This is exactly what we need! As a mother, I feel that I have not received nearly enough child-rearing tips from women rich enough to hire nannies, and travel by private jet... Call me cynical, but between The View and the Oxygen network, I think we've got more than enough crap "women's" programming."

To which I say, yes. And, ditto. What, exactly, does a celebrity parent of a 17 month old have to tell me about the experience of motherhood? Um, nothing. Zip. Nada. Zilch. As I said, I have a major girl-crush on ~~Sidney Bristow~~ Jennifer Garner, but still. My kid is 19 months old. I've got it all figured out already. And what I don't have figured out? I don't need advice from someone with six nannies to help me with that stuff.

That said, I won't hate on anyone who chooses to watch it (and from the pissy comments over at Alisyn's post, it seems that there are more than a few of you.) Hell, I'll probably watch it. But I won't like it, I swear. I'll spend the whole time wishing that she were chasing down the evil masterminds behind international conspiracies, with Violet strapped to her in in a super-high-tech BabyBjorn equipped with super-high-tech lasers! In a wig!

That would be awesome.
