So... while David Duchovny's been tom-catting around feeding his supposed sex addiction (which, can I say? Whatever. I lived in Vancouver during the X-Files years and got to witness firsthand Duchovny tomcattery many a time. Maybe it was an addiction, maybe not - it was nonetheless both impressive and disturbing.) (Johnny Depp, on the other hand, in the 21 Jump Street years? Total gentleman, if prone to breaking lamps at parties) Billy-Bob Thornton's been a-courtin' Duchovny's wife (and mother of his kids) Tea Leoni, and the buzz is that Thornton's got, erm, a lot to offer.

According to the UK's Daily Mail, "it was not (Duchovny's) 'sexual compulsion proclivity' that caused the break-down of their marriage, but rather his discovery of explicit text messages on her mobile phone sent by actor Billy Bob Thornton"

Which begs the response, EW, but also, WHY? Well, follow any comment thread on the topic and you'll immediately see a pattern of commentary that reduces to this: Billy Bob is, shall we say, well-equipped to address the needs of the ladies.

Which, again, ew, but kinda poetic, no? While David's been out being a dirty, dirty dog, tea found herself a dirtier dog? (Because, seriously - Billy Bob? Does he not make you crave a really hot, soapy shower?) If it's true, that is.

Whatever. It's shame either way. Marriage breaking up under sordid circumstances, kids left in the lurch, same old sad story. Hollywood's a pit.
