Mel reportedly freaked out at Sunday services, <a href="http://www.showbizspy.com/article/186754/mel-gibson-chastises-churchgoers">berating the members of his church</a> for supposedly spreading rumors and gossip about him and his pregnant wife Oksana Grigorieva. </p><p>He even threatened to shut the church down if people didn't stop gossiping about his baby mama. </p><p>“[His] holier than thou world is falling apart around him — all these years he’s been preaching the good holy word, and now that the wizard’s curtain has been pulled back, we find that Mel hasn’t been practicing what he preaches.” </p><p><i>“He paced back and forth, furiously telling the congregation that he would not stand by and be judged and scrutinized,” the source added.</i></p> <p><i>“Mel got up on his stage — the altar — and went off. He tried to intimidate the parishioners by staring at everyone with his angry eyes. Mel even threatened to shut down the church if people kept gossiping about him.</i></p> <p><i>“The bottom line is that if Mel hadn’t cheated on his wife and gotten his Russian girlfriend pregnant, there wouldn’t be much to gossip about — he created this mess, and now he’s trying to control it.</i></p> <p><i>“He’s definitely feeling the heat for it.”</i></p><p>Sure, some rumors about <a href="http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/famecrawler/archive/2009/05/29/oksana-gives-mel-an-ultimatum-quot-go-to-rehab-or-we-re-through-quot.aspx">Mel's erratic behavior</a> in the last few weeks were probably exaggerated, but chastising members of his own weird church? It's really pretty hard to see how that could get taken too out of context. </p><p>The weird thing is that he really <span style="font-style:italic;">could</span> shut the church down, because he bankrolls it. Is this not the most egomaniacal thing you've ever heard of?</p><p>Hopefully, this news is not true, because that's a terrible example for Mel's 7, soon to be 8, kids. Now, bidders may get a shot at Deanna Hummel's queen mattress. <i>Ewww</i>.</p><p>After schoolteacher Deanna Hummel's brother went public about the alleged affair, she moved out, leaving the bed in her wake. Now, Deanna's opportunistic brother Jason says he's considering an auction to see how much a fan (perhaps in search of DNA evidence) will pay for the piece of trashy tabloid history. </p><p><i><i>“I want to put the bed on eBay,”</i> Jason said this week. “<i>I want to see how much some crazy fan will pay.” </i></i></p><p>The whole thing -- and I mean the situation, the brother, the breakup and of course the mattress -- is really pretty disgusting.</p><p>What's really in store for the Gosselin family circus, it's pretty hard to say. Apparently, David went all out to rekindle the spark with his estranged wife: </p><p><i>“He dropped to one knee, asked Tea to marry him again and vowed, ‘This time we’ll get it right.’ “</i></p><p>After his admission to rehab for sex addiction -- a disease that I'm still a little clueless about -- it seemed pretty much certain that between the embarrassment and infidelity rumors,the marriage was doomed. Supposedly, if Mel doesn't halt his alcohol abuse, Oksana is taking her fetus and hitting the road. She’s informed Mel that if he doesn’t go to rehab, she’ll bow out of the picture before they go any further.”</i></p><p>Just yesterday, I was saying that I thought <a href="http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/famecrawler/archive/2009/05/28/oksana-s-mom-dishes-on-mel.aspx">Oksana <i>didn't</i> seem fishy</a>. <i>Now</i>, assuming this news isn't a total fabrication, I've got to say she seems a lot more suspicious.</p><p>Sure, she could be totally well-meaning here and really want to make Mel be all the father he could be -- or she could have been waiting to break things off once she and Mel had made the big announcement. Could Oksana really be a serial gold digger, having babies with movies stars and then leaving with the cash? </p><p>I know it's way too early to know really anything, but what are your first impressions? Did Todd's spidey senses tell him something was up? </p><p>Off course, it could also have been the fact that the teenage couple was having sex in the governor's house, as <a href="http://gawker.com/5224123/levi-johnstons-strangest-moments-with-larry-king">has been alleged</a>. In that case, I'd buy my daughter two cars to break up with that dude, maybe three (and I'm not talking Kias here).</p><p>As it goes with accidental celebrities, Levi is caught between wanting to wring every bit of cash out of his 15 minutes and wanting to be off of the whole weird trip. Still, things are looking up. Getting featured in a sympathetic story in GQ is never a completely bad thing. </p><p>Also, it sounds like his relationship with Bristol is starting to thaw. Apparently, Bristol has started dropping baby Tripp off personally, and they even <strike>sext</strike> text each other from time to time. <br /></p><p> <i>"GQ writer John Jeremiah Sullivan watched them exchange flirty text messages. That led to a warmth between them, and now they're in regular contact." </i></p><p>Will the couple ever give things another try? Getting back together is apparently "not even in" Levi's thoughts right now. Still, it's good to hear that the couple is at least being civil toward one another. Her publicist says it's because "she's not ready to talk that publicly about what's going on." </p><p>I'm guessing that it has more to do with the fact that she's recently retained one of the highest paid divorce attorneys around, Fiona Shackleton (the lawyer that represented Paul McCartney in the Heather Mills split). </p><p>The subject of the interview was to be: "her separation from Peter Andre and her hopes for the future." Maybe Shackleton reminded her that anything she says or does can be held against her in a court of law. </p><p>Denying her pleas to give it another shot, Peter Andre is asking for a 'quickie' divorce. He's apparently ready to formalize the separation and get his custody rights in writing. Says Peter after reuniting with his kids Junior Savva Andrea and Princess Tiaamii.</p><p><i>"I hadn't seen the kids for over a week and it was hell. I missed them so much it actually made me ache inside. I've done some stupid things. Now, a few years later, at the ripe old age of 64, Stewart wants to try again?</p><p>If Penny were to get pregnant immediately, that would put Rod at a very iffy 80 years old when his youngest child get its driver's license. Look, I'm not saying Rod Stewart looks bad for his age or anything, but after the rock star life he's led, I'm thinking 80 is really pushing the limit. </p><p>Think about it: the Beatles song, <i>When I'm Sixty Four</i>, the lyrics ask "will you still need me, will you still feed me," -- <i>not</i> will you carry my child. We'll have to wait and see.</p><p>Jacko and his three children, Prince Michael, Paris Michael, and Prince Michael II continued to "hide" their identities from the public in Los Angeles last weekend (by wearing brightly colored masks) officially making the King of Pop one of the weirdest dads on the celebrity parenting circuit. </p><p>The masks are supposedly intended to protect the children from the dreaded media (an impulse that I can totally understand). Still, after a few months, isn't the solution starting to be worse than the problem? Not to mention, the masks haven't exactly silenced rumors about Jacko's crazy parenting style... far from it. <br /></p><p>You know that something is a bit off with your dad when he decides to name all three of his children after himself (Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, and Prince Michael Jackson II). That's gotta be a pretty good indicator that your dad is either extremely egocentric, or just has a tough time grasping this thing we call reality. It looks like Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was having a tough time competing with his daughter's cell phone. </p><p>Richie and his daughter spent some quality father-daughter time courtside at the Lakers game Tuesday night where they were snapped by the paps. My take on the photo is that Richie is thinking: <i>'she's growing up so fast, sniffle.' </i></p><p>I can't really tell whether she taking a photo here or just trying to get the glare off of here screen here, but she seems to be pretty sucked in to the digital world. I get it."</p> <p>Speaking to <a class="" href="http://www.vibe.com/" target="_blank"><em>VIBE</em> magazine</a>, in its second annual Real Rap Issue for June/July, the rap star admits to taking as many as 20 Vicodin, Ambien and Valium a day.  Here are some highlights via <a class="" href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20276424,00.html?xid=rss-topheadlines" target="_blank">PEOPLE</a>:<br /><br /><em>"The numbers got so high, I don't even know what I was taking."<br /><br />Following his first stint in rehab in 2005, the rapper, 36, tells VIBE he nearly overdosed after an acquaintance gave him unidentified blue pills, which a doctor later told him were actually methadone. "My doctor told me the amount of methadone I'd taken was equivalent to shooting up four bags of heroin," Eminem says, noting that had he known, "I probably wouldn't have taken it. But as bad as I was back then, I can't even say 100 percent for sure."<br /><br />Shortly after detoxing, he suffered a knee injury that required surgery, but because of his drug abuse, he was not prescribed pain killers. "I started looking around my house to see if I had a stash box of Vicodin ... I'm ransacking my house, finally find something in the basement, in a little napkin, seven and a half Vicodin – the big extra strength ones – and a few Valium." With his pill addiction spiraling out of control again, Eminem suffered his second relapse before accepting he suffered from drug addiction. <br /><br />With his new album, Relapse, due out May 19, Eminem says he has been sober for a year and is ready to return to the spotlight. "I'm back," he says. "Rap was my drug. It used to get me high and then it stopped getting me high. According to the Enquirer, K-Fed's monthly budget looks something like this: $7,500 for rent, $2,000 for food because sons Sean,3, and Jayden, 2, are picky eaters, $800 for liquor, $1,500 for utilities, $2,800 for the nanny, and $3,000 for the part-time bodyguards. When a member of Snoop's entourage got arrested for recieving a suspicious package full of weed from Canada at the Norfolk, Virginia Plaza Hotel, the <i>Father Hood</i> star himself stepped in with his medical marijuana license and tried to take responsibility.</p><p>The hotel apparently felt there was something odd about the package when it arrived and called in the fuzz to investigate. That's when Snoop came to the rescue... <i>sort of</i>. Since Virginia has no medical marijuana laws, Snoop's buddy got arrested anyway. Still, it's the thought that counts. </p><p>Oddly enough, I can't quit thinking how fatherly the move was on Snoop's part. Not so much because it sets a good example for the kiddies -- of course, neither did the video of him toking up on Twitter -- but because he showed how to stand by a friend in need. Ha!</p><p>Hopefully, Snoop won't have to pull the same kind of manuever with any of his children (Cori, 9, Cordell, 11, and Corde, 14) but I'm sure he will if he needs to.
