Remember when the Bachelor and Bachelorette shows were fun, and not a bastion of broken engagements and shattered dreams? Trista Sutter (formerly Rehn) was one of the original Bachelorettes and her and husband Ryan Sutter have been married five years. Take that, Jason!

Trista and Ryan are expecting their second child, a daughter, in April, and she recently had a baby shower attended by family and friends. The upscale affair was held at the Sonnenalp Resort of Vail in Colorado - Trista's a celebrity so you wouldn't find her friends toasting her in a back room at Applebees. Of course, no offense meant if you did in fact have your baby shower at Applebees - I hear they have awesome buffalo wings.

Whitney Houston's New Album on the Horizon: Will It Suck?

Celebrity trainwreck Whitney Houston has been hand-picked to perform at music big-wig Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party next month. Clive's parties are always packed with celebs and Whitney will be there singing tracks off of her new album LIVE.

It's been a long time since Whitney had an album out. That's because she was too busy snorting crack off of Bobby Brown's stomach in her reality show. Or something. She had to be snorting SOMETHING. That girl be crazy.

Rumor has it that Whit's new album is dropping before spring hits. It's either going to be brilliant like Britney's comeback album, or it's going to be a disaster. Either way, I'm there, baby.

Whitney has one daughter with Bobby, Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown, now 15. Bobby has around 648 children with other women.

Hide Your Children: Paris Is Going To Be A (God)mother

Not that this comes as much of a surprise, but apparently Nicole Richie wants Paris Hilton to be her baby's godmother. Hubby Joel Madden, however, isn't so keen on the idea.

Joel, apparently, doesn't think that Paris is up for the task, and would prefer instead to name his future sister-in-law, Sophie Monk, godmother.

Paris Hilton, not up to the task of being godmother? Shocking. Couldn't have anything to do with her being, you know, a godless heathen of a famewhore tart, could it?

Waiting for Tonight, and an Invitation: Jennifer Lopez' Baby Shower

Save the date: Jennifer Lopez is set to have her baby shower on January 22. The singer, who is expecting twins with husband Marc Anthony, has reportedly booked the Private Roof Club and Garden at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York for her special event. Invitees include celebrity friends Victoria Beckham, Matthew McConaughey and Katie Holmes. Funny, I don't see Mariah Carey or Irving Azoff anywhere on the guest list.

And Jennifer's friends will be going home with more than just a stomach full of finger-sandwiches and memories of corny shower games: Each guest will receive a Swarovski-encrusted baby pacifier as a party favor.

I wonder if they'll get a Botox bag to put it in?

Slutty Cat Fight! Britney And Paris Battle It Out Over Strippers

There's just nothing classier than a down-on-her-luck single-mom-slash-former-pop-star and an ex-con heiress battling it out for control of the strip poles in Vegas, is there? Rumor has it that Britney Spears and Paris Hilton are getting set to compete for the title of Top Nudie Show Proprietor (which would make them what? Skankpreneurs?) in Las Vegas, as both prepare to launch their own chains of strip clubs in the town.

According to ANI: Britney, who is annoyed with the hotel heiress for flirting with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, has been in secret talks about a 40million pounds project to open her chain of strip clubs across Sin City.

However, after learning about the pop star's plans, Paris has decided to beat Spears to the punch by opening her chain of strip clubs in Las Vegas.

"Britney was excited about this project for months and is really pissed with Paris that things have come to this. And that's even before she heard Paris has been partying with Kevin," the Daily Star quoted a source, as saying.

"Britney has always thought of stripping as a bit like art - as a skill. So when some Vegas-based developers approached her about investing money into three exclusive strip joints, which she wants to call Toxic Heaven, she jumped at the chance.

"But then Paris heard about the plans through her younger sister Nicky, who is a hotelier, and jumped on the bandwagon.

"She wanting to open her own strip joints, calling them Shagadillic. Paris is now in talks with business developers about the idea and wants to involve Nicky to keep it within the family. She thinks they can trounce Britney," the source added.

What I love best about this story: discovering that Britney regards stripping as "a bit like art - as a skill." Like it's just a misunderstood form of ballet, or woodworking. I so want to see this story pan out, if only to see which of these two skankerrific young women gets most passionate about defending stripping as an art form. Because then I want to hear about how nudity is really the height of fashion and how slutting it up is a kind of energetic chastity. I could learn so much from these girls, I really could.
