Cindy Margolis Understands Infertility

Cindy Margolis was shocked at how trying to become a mother took her on a "long, rocky, and sometimes heartbreaking journey."

She needed IVF to help her have her son, Nicholas, and used a surrogate mother to have twin daughters, Sabrina and Sierra.

She decided that because her journey was so difficult, she would write a book about the effects the difficulties can have on your psyche. She says, " Doctors don’t really focus on telling you how emotionally draining it can be and they don’t (or at least didn’t in our experience) talk much about how hard infertility can be on your self-esteem and your relationships, they also don’t prepare you for how much harder you will have to work to build your family than the couples who can get pregnant naturally. I wanted to change that. I wanted to talk about those things, answer those questions and remove the stigma of infertility that seemed to keep me from finding the support we desperately needed in our own journey.”

It seems that infertility is so much more common now. Those struggling are so fortunate to have so many options to turn to in trying to fulfill their dreams for a family.

Deborah Gibson-Not Ready To Be A Mom Yet, Who Knew?

You can add Deborah Gibson to the list of women that want to be older moms.

Personally, I didn't know there was a list. I know I wanted to wait until I was 30 and I thought that was excessive. I waited and I am glad I did because I wasn't ready which is exactly why Deborah who is 37 is waiting, she's not ready.

Deborah told OK! Magazine that the latest rash of births to older mothers give her hope. I bet they'll being called older. She named Jennifer Lopez, 38,who has four month old twins, Marcia Cross, 46, who also has 16 month old twins as her examples.

My only question to her is, does she know how hard it was for Jennifer and Marcia to get pregnant? Is she aware of how much energy kids take from you every waking minute of everyday? Does she know that it's hard to keep up with them at 22 let alone 40? (I know, I know that was three questions.)

Deborah says that when she does have kids she will be a very hands-on kind of mom. Instead of what?

I like Debbie Gibson, I really do, I just think that so many people want to have their cake and it eat too anymore that they don't realize the sacrifices you make for your kids everyday. It's almost like they are an accessory, a toy to play with that you give back to the nanny before you go out on the town to have some adult time.
