Lindsay's On The Same Drugs That Killed Heath, Says Dad

Michael Lohan, Lindsay Lohan's sometimes-estranged father, claims that Lindsay is taking the same prescription drugs that killed Heath Ledger, and that he's worried for her life.

He told InTouch Magazine that "even before Heath's death, I told Lindsay that I'm very concerned about the pills she's taking," noting that she is or has been on Oxycontin for pain, Adderall for Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Xanax for depression and anxiety and Ambien for insomnia.

He added that he is "not only fearful for Lindsay, but for all the other kids out there. Most of these young people shouldn't be on some of these medications - instead, they should get spiritual guidance, counselling and exercise... These new drugs get into their bones and bloodstreams and they have to detox to get off them or they can have seizures or possibly die."

Lindsay, of course, doesn't see herself as facing any of these problems: "It's so tragic what just recently happened to Heath," she said during her recent nudie photo-shoot (evoking - ironically? - Marilyn Monroe's last photo shoot before her death from overdose of prescription drugs.) "But I sure as hell wouldn't let it happen to me."

Lindsay Lohan's dad says that he's not going to look at his daughter's nudie photos - um, good - but that otherwise he's just fine with the idea of her posing naked.

Michael Lohan told Us, “I’m not going to look at the photos—that’s my daughter!” But it's not like he's opposed to the idea of Lindsay baring all.

“Lindsay is an adult, and she knows the direction she wants to take her career,” he said. “It’s her decision."

Now that's just good parenting, is it not? It never occured to anybody to say, oh, hey, Lindsay? Maybe you wanna put off the nudie shoots until you're more than a few weeks outta rehab?

Some PR people are saying just that.

"She needs to get back to acting. I'd rather see her do a student film at USC than take her clothes off in a look-at-me-moment. These shots run the real risk of overshadowing her acting career," said one New York-based PR professional. And Radaronline.com notes that 'even the New York story accompanying the spread, in which Lohan comes off as deliberate and smart, subtly raises a similar point, noting that when Stern shot Monroe, she had come off of some negative publicity and her sexuality had far outpaced her acting.

"For New York magazine, it's a brilliant move. For her, it's a terrible idea,"Ronn Torossian of 5WPR told Radar. "For the last six weeks, she hasn't been in trouble, and then she does this.... It's okay for her to not be in the news right now."

PR flacks being more reserved and conservative than a young celeb's parents? Bizarro world, or the natural order of things in La-La Land?

New York Magazine released some outtakes from the Lindsay Lohan/Bert Stern 'Last Sitting' photoshoot this afternoon - more! nude! Lindsay! - and Dina Lohan, Lindsay's ever-vigilant mother, finally had something to say about it.

Dina told People.com that she's proud of her 21-year-old daughter's latest ~~nudistic~~ artistic endeavor. "It was very tastefully done. I respect the photographer as an artist, so I look at them artistically. For him to call Lindsay 46 years later and to say can you recreate these photos is an honor... I don't look at them like it's Playboy; she was being a character. If you look at it that way, you can look at it as a mother."

Riiiight. That would sound reasonable coming from a reasonable mother, but seeing as Dina Lohan has already well-demonstrated her willingness to pimp her children out to the highest bidder under any pretenses, it's hard to take this seriously. Because, really? Like Dina Lohan would have a problem with Lindsay posing for Playboy. I'll bet that she's already made calls to Hugh Hefner, and that buddy just hasn't been willing to pony up enough cash.

Wow, Lindsay can be real deep when she's naked. Or is that real stupid? I get so confused when confronted by blatant self-promotion in the form of bare titties.

The desperate-for-a-real-career-actress and former Paris pal waxed banal on the subject of Heath Ledger's death during the Marilyn Monroe-inspired nudie shoot that she did for New York Magazine.

From Us Weekly:

Lindsay Lohan, who was once linked to Heath Ledger and was spotted crying after his passing, is speaking out on the late actor's death.

In the new issue of New York magazine, the actress, 21, poses nearly naked for a recreation of “The Last Sitting,” the last series of photos of Marilyn Monroe.

Lohan calls Monroe's suicide "tragic," adding, "you know, it’s also tragic what just recently happened to someone else.”

Asked if she’s referring to Ledger, Lohan replies, “They are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone.”

The thrice-rehabbed Lindsay clearly didn't appreciate the irony of a newly-recovered (?) B-list drug abuser passing judgment on the tragic drug-related deaths of two important film stars.

“I'm not them … I sure as hell wouldn’t let it happen to me,” she tells the magazine.

Damn right, she's not them. She took her drugs for fun, without prescription! And! She's not made one important film in her life!

Phew. Good to know that she'll survive.
