NBA Star Eddy Curry Awarded Custody Of Son After Ex's Murder

New York Knicks player Eddy Curry was awarded custody of his 3-year-old son Noah, after the murder of his ex-girlfriend and mother to the boy. Nova Henry was murdered (along with 9-month-old daughter Ava - she was also Eddy's child) on January 25 of this year. Henry's mother, Yolan, has been caring for Noah and she didn't want to hand him over to his father.

Yolan Henry, who has had custody of Noah since the murder of her daughter and granddaughter, told reporters last week, "I have spent the last few months trying to help my grandson adjust to life without his mother, Nova Henry, and baby sister, Ava. Noah clings to me every moment of the day and cries when I am not in his sight."

Noah's grandmother plans to appeal the court-ordered ruling because "[Noah] has seen his father twice his entire life. They never knew my granddaughter and since she's been dead, [Eddy and his family] haven't seemed to care."

Eddy Curry is married to Patrice and they have four children together - Eddy III, Reign, Reigan and Reiganna.

Two counts of first degree murder have been brought against attorney Frederick Goings, 36, on February 22. He had served as Nova Henry's lawyer in the custody case about baby Ava against Eddy Curry.

Spike Lee and Son Jackson Are Not in the Cheap Seats

Spike Lee and his son Jackson enjoy courtside seats at the Knicks game over the weekend. No nosebleed section for these two. As well as some father-son bonding time, maybe Spike was doing a little 'research' for his Michael Jordan documentary I hear he's working on. Although something tells me Spike doesn't need any excuse to go to a Knicks game.

Jackson looks pretty happy - he must realize he and his dad have some of the best seats in the house. You won't catch them sitting up in the cheap seats, where you're bound to run into some crazy person guzzling beer and eating nachos and yelling, "My grandmother plays ball better than you do." Not that ~~I've ever done~~ know anyone like that.

Eddy Curry's Ex-Girlfriend Murdered in Front of His Son

Nova Henry, the ex-girlfriend of NBA star Eddy Curry, was shot to death in her home last night along with her young daughter. If that's not horrible enough Eddy's three year old son was there and may have witnessed the murder of his mother.

Nova had apparently had been having trouble with her current boyfriend but the police are looking for an yet to be named "acquaintance".

That poor little boy, I am so glad that he was unharmed. I hope the police find his mothers killer and that the little boy blocks this from his memory. There are some things that you shouldn't have to remember.

I don't know about you but I have seen so many news articles lately that includes crimes against children.

It's tragic and horrible and makes me what kind of people you have to be to willingly hurt another, especially a child.

Jon Stewart and Son Continue Family Tradition

Jon Stewart took 4-year-old Nathan for a great guys' night out last night. The father and son team went to see the New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. And guess who they sat next to? Whoopi Goldberg!

Jon told Whoopi that his father took him to his first Knicks game when he was around 4, and he's continuing the tradition. Aw, isn't Nathan a cutie?

Isiah Thomas: My Kid Needs Help, Not Me

New York police officials are accusing former Knicks coach Isiah Thomas of a "cover-up" after he was reportedly treated for an overdose on Friday but then blamed the incident on a medical issue involving his daughter. Thomas is claiming that his 17-year old daughter Lauren was the reason police and paramedics were called to his home.

Speaking to the New York Post by cell phone on Friday, Thomas insisted he had not been treated for a sleeping pill overdose. It “wasn’t an overdose,” he told the newspaper. “My daughter is very down right now. None of us are OK.”

But Harrison Police Chief David Hall isn't buying it. “It wasn’t his daughter,” he told The Associated Press. “And why they’re throwing her under the bus is beyond my ability to understand.”

“I understand that [Thomas] claims it was his daughter; he is lying. It was definitely not his daughter, it was a male. We know the difference between a 47-year-old black male and a young black female.”

On Friday an ambulance and police officers responded to a 911 call that came in from Thomas' Westchester County home shortly after midnight. Several media outlets at the time reported that police confirmed it was Thomas who was taken to the hospital.
