Paula Abdul to Adopt?

We're talked about this before, but Paula's back in the news talking about adopting a child again. She revealed the scoop to Ladie's Home Journal:

"I want kids! If it doesn’t happen naturally, I can always adopt."

Abdul is using the interview to squash rumours that her latest romance is in trouble. She adds, "It’s a good thing. I’ve experienced real loneliness, so I love knowing there’s someone I can share the good and the not-so-good with."

Let's hope that painkiller addiction is under control before she decides to inflict the pain of motherhood on herself. When she's trying to have a bath by herself, I hope she remembers this talk of loneliness!

Dear Jen,

I hear you're thinking of foregoing pain medication during your upcoming delivery of twins. To each his own, but you might want to reconsider. I had my doubts before I gave birth, but after having an epidural myself I have to say that I now know that drugs are my friend. My loyal, expensive, covered-by-insurance friend.

Think about it: Pain - who needs it?! In fact, I'm planning on having an epidural before my next eyebrow tweezing, and I sure wish I'd had one when my kids made me go see National Treasure: Book of Secrets last week.

As for the noise-free thing, I can't say I agree with you there, either. I know both you and your husband Marc Anthony are rumored to be followers of The Church of Tom Cruise - I mean Scientology, and that they came up with this whole crazy 'silent birth' idea but I'm not sure why. I'm thinking it was because some guy was watching the football game while his wife was giving birth and he couldn't hear the score because of all the screaming. Whatever the reason, I say you go ahead and yell and cuss if you want to, and if Marc gives you a bad time you should just kick his ass. He looks pretty tiny, I think even I could take him. With or without an epidural.
