Christian Bale doesn't need any kind of anything to help him perform. He admits that he was, at one time, tempted to use steroids to build his physique.

He passed up the chance to be a 'roid head and do it all naturally.

The reason he passed it up?

He said, “I called up the store where they’re selling that sort of stuff and asked, ‘Have you used it? And side effects?’ ‘No no. I mean, really minimal. Your balls might shrink and you might get acne.’ I’m like, there’s no way in hell I’m going to touch anything like that and damn those who think I did.”

Ha ha that's funny, he didn't want his junk to shrink. It probably would have made him a little angry and intense. He needs nothing to help him in the intensity department.

The always good-looking Christian Bale was out and about with his wife and daughter in Santa Monica the other day. His wife Sibi was rumored to be pregnant with their second child. What do you think, does she look to have a bump?

Why, oh why, does he have a USC hat on? Does he feel obligated to wear it?

Christian Bale Gets Off Scott Free

Christian Bale's legal woes are over, at least for the moment. Prosecutors in England suggested that he should be cautioned, not charged so he'll get a slap on the wrist instead fines and imprisonment. According to a statement, "Bale will have to admit guilt to get a caution when he answers bail next month. Cops can still charge him if he refuses."

Well good, I'm glad for him. (just call me Pollyanna) We all have those family members that know exactly how to push our buttons and in a high profile, stressful position, who's to say that we wouldn't react the same way.

In England you can be charged for assault even if you don't lay a finger on someone. It's verbal assault. We need some of that here, I get yelled at all the time at work, over mashed potatoes.

Christian already had a strained relationship with his mother, which is why he went with his dad after they got divorced, but I guess asking for money and saying rude things about his wife was not the route his mother should have gone when trying to make amends.

Something To Remember Heath By

Heath Ledger will be missed as an actor, and a movie star, but he will be missed most of all, as a father.

Michelle Williams, Heath Ledger's former fiance, wants to make a film about Heath for Matilda. She wants all of his friends and co-stars to share the stories they have and a little bit about Heath as they knew him so that Matilda can grow up knowing the man that her father was. Matilda was so young when he died that she probably won't have any of her own memories of her daddy, Michelle knows this and will do her best to make sure Matilda can keep his memory alive.

In a statement about Heath's early death Michelle said, "I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day."

A loving tribute in a sad situation.

Christian Bale Says, Not My Daughter

Christian Bale cares about his daughter enough to keep her out of Hollywood. He is of the school of thought that kids just don't understand the pressures you face in Hollywood and that kids just aren't equipped to deal with the day to day stress of it.

He told WENN, " I have very strong opinions about why kids should not be working at such a young age, I think introducing children to a professional industry where they may not recognize the pressure is wrong. Very quickly they're going to be under pressure, this is an adult industry, I would be skeptical putting anybody I cared about, who was close to me, in this profession at a young age. I absolutely support it as a hobby and as an amateur pursuit but, to enter into it in a professional world, is a whole different ball game."

Christian Bale entered into the industry at a young age so he may know what he is talking about.

I wonder if he watches Living Lohan or what he thinks of Denise Richards: It's Complicated?

Sexy Superhero Parents: The Top 10

Superheroes. We love them, we need them. Man, we sure could use some about now, couldn't we?

The Superhero movie has become pure gold lately, monetarily speaking, and some of Hollywood's biggest (and hottest) stars have been putting on the tights (or armor) for our viewing pleasure. Many of those stars are parents, hence this list on FameCrawler (not to mention the fact that I'm a big comic ~~geek~~ fan).

I know, all good parents are super or heroes or whatever, this isn't about that. This is about rocking the spandex (and box office).

10. Tobey Maguire- Spiderman: Seabiscuit's own Tobey has starred as Peter Parker/Spiderman in all three of the films thus far in the series. There is talk that a fourth film will be released in a few years. Tobey is married to Jennifer Meyer and has a one-year-old daughter Ruby Sweetheart.

9. James Marsden- Cyclops: James played Cyclops in the X-Men trilogy. He was also in Superman, but not as the 'man of steel.' He was also the prince in Enchanted, which was actually quite good. He is married to Lisa Linde and they have two children, Jack (7) and Mary (turns 3 in August).

8. Eric Bana- Hulk: Eric played the Hulk's alter-ego Bruce Banner in the earlier Hulk film (the role played this summer by Ed Norton). He also starred shirtless with Brad Pitt in Troy. The Australian actor is married to Rebecca Gleeson and they have two children, Klaus (10) and Sophia (7).

7. Will Smith- Hancock: Will Smith has been in every movie ever made, and now he's a superhero. Smith is married to Jada Pinkett-Smith and has three children, Trey, Jaden and Willow.

6. Jennifer Garner/Ben Affleck- Elektra/Daredevil: Jennifer Garner should be ranked higher, but she's got that Affleck anchor attached to her. I only had room for 10 and since these two characters are so intertwined, both in the movie and real life, well, you get it. The couple have a daughter named Violet and might have one on deck.

5. Robert Downey, Jr.- Iron Man: Could there ever be a better Tony Stark? Reformed bad boy Robert Downey, Jr., finally matched his box office intake to his critical acclaim when he landed in the role he was born to play. Robert is married to Susan Levin and has a 16-year-old son, Indio, from a previous marriage.

4. Jessica Alba- Invisible Woman: Jessica Alba was anything but invisible in her role as the Fantastic Four's Susan Storm/Invisible Woman. She played the part twice. Alba is married to Cash Warren and they have a brand new daughter named Honor.

3. Halle Berry- Storm: Did you know that Academy Award winner Halle Berry was the runner-up in the 1986 Miss USA? It's true, ask Wikipedia. Berry played Storm in all of the X-Men movies. She recently had a baby, Nahla, with her boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry.

2. Hugh Jackman- Wolverine: Yes, Hugh Jackman is super dad. The Broadway star has played the character of Logan/Wolverine in all of the X-Men films and will be the subject of the prequel, Wolverine, which is currently filming. Hugh is married to Deborra-Lee Furness and has two children, Oscar (8) and Ava (turns 3 tomorrow, Happy Birthday, Ava!).

1. Christian Bale- Batman: Who else could it be? Christian Bale is our winner. Congratulations, pretty boy. Bale is married to Sandra "Sibi" Blazic and together they have a daughter whose name has never been confirmed. Bale, like Batman, is a pretty private guy.

Cristian Bale/Dark Knight/Bruce Wayne

Christian Bale is the hands down the best Batman/Bruce Wayne. In this Interview with Parade magazine he let's us know how it all happened and what's up next for him.

What have you learned about Bruce Wayne and about yourself in the years between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight?

"About myself, I always remain the last person to know. But with Bruce, what we have is no longer the angry, young man. We have somebody who now finds himself confronted with the responsibilities of power, not the pursuit of it. He has been surprised by the fact that this is clearly not going to be an endeavor with a finite ending. What Batman is all about is a double-sided edge; there's a duality to this character, which makes him still interesting to play in the sequel—I hope in a third. And I'm working with people who are going to inspire but also demand that I come up with something new. I do love the unknown, but there's more to investigate in Bruce Wayne and Batman."

Now you are not only going to be compared to every Batman that came before you, but with your own portrayal as well.

"Right. I've always enjoyed that challenge, anyway. I don't know if I will grow out of it one day. But I still have a love of just being perverse. I don't mean to waste other people's time by being perverse just for the sake of it. But it can be bloody enjoyable at times."

Superheroes are on the scene in a big way. We seem to be in a time when we want some security, someone to save us.

"I always feel completely oblivious to any Zeitgeist that's coming on. Whenever people talk in those terms, I feel absolutely lost. I know certainly what intrigues me. Most of the time, I tend to think it's complete coincidence if other people are interested in it as well. I do find the man that I play, although he's certainly in the superhero pantheon, is the most questionable of superheroes as he doesn't have special powers whatsoever. I think the others may well question his legitimacy to be a member of the club."

Michael Caine is back as Alfred. How would you describe his influence on you?

"Michael is grace under fire. When I think about him, I think about surfing, which is all effort for me, I get out and battle the waves and I'm exhausting myself. Then you see people who are riding multiple waves in the time it's taken me to fight out there and feel like I'm drowning. Michael's like that. He makes it look effortless."

You can't talk about Batman without discussing the famous suit, and you've been candid about your complaints. Have they done anything to make it more comfortable?

"Thank God, yes, they have. I'm so appreciative of that. The first movie was like having a vice tightened around my skull for months on end. Which I convinced myself only helped me to portray the rage that this alter ego, Batman, felt. I thankfully discovered that I didn't need that vice squeezing my head to portray that rage this time around. They were able to make that a whole lot more comfortable."

So you have an air-conditioned Batsuit?

"It was nothing so advanced as that. It was just material that was able to breathe a little, so that I wasn't leaving the puddles of sweat behind me if I stood still for longer than 30 seconds."

Is success hard to cope with for you as it is with so many stars?

"I don't feel qualified to talk about that yet — not in my professional life. I can't say that I've completely experienced that feeling yet. I would hope that there would still be a fire if I did feel like I had achieved what I'd set out to. But maybe what helps is that I have no idea what I've set out to achieve, so I'll never know when I've gotten there. And so I won't have a sense of having conquered it."

Tell me about agreeing to do the next Terminator.

"I've always had two varying degrees of success, and I'm not talking about anything to do with box office. I'm talking about my own parameters. You know, an interest in attempting in a wide variety of stories. I never desired to be a big studio movie actor, action actor. I've never desired to be a serious independent movie actor. I enjoy all of those. It depends on what mood I'm in. And therefore, I will try to bend those stories into becoming something that I can enjoy myself, varying degrees of success with that. We have an opportunity with it for a continuation, but also a reinvention, and I have to say, much the same way in my mind as we have with Batman. And beyond that I won't say anymore because we're just starting."

People take you very seriously because you're such a good artist. Do you enjoy having some of the privileges that go with being a leading man?

"Of course. And I never forget that. But that's in keeping with the kind of ups and down that I was accustomed to in growing up, that I don't take it for granted. And I don't see it as something that I'm entitled to. I see myself as a lucky bastard. And for some reason, hey, I get to enjoy these things. Is that always going to last? I have no idea. And the day I start believing it's always going to last will probably be the day it's all gone. And, you know, that to me is the definition of a lucky bastard. Because there was no big plan here whatsoever. It's all a happy accident."

Ali Larter Wants To Be A (SUPER) Mom

Ali Larter - who plays Niki Sanders on the hit series Heroes - wants to get married and have babies. Specifically, she wants to marry her boyfriend, Hayes MacArthur, and have his babies.

She needs to wait, though, until she's worked through more of her character's storyline on Heroes. She didn't say that; I did. I love Heroes. I don't want her maternal urges screwing up my favorite show. That said, a pregnant Niki Sanders - former stripper slash single mom with superhuman strength and a dual personality - could really be kick-ass. Somebody doesn't give her a seat on the subway? Watch out! Never mind fighting Sylar or Linderman's henchmen or the Company - she could join the League for Maternal Justice and kick the asses of all the morons out there who refuse to give up their seats or who insist upon touching your belly or who tell you repeatedly that you're huge or suggest that maybe you shouldn't have that fourth piece of fried chicken because it's hard to lose the baby weight the second time around. She'd kick their asses, and then she wouldn't remember that she did it, which is exactly how it works for me when I fall into a hormone-induced rage, so it'd be, like, totally true. It'd be awesome.

Somebody needs to get the Heroes writers working on that, stat.
