Kiefer Boozes Hits The Bar Scene With Daughter

After his recent brushes with Johnny Law, you might think Kiefer would try to lay low and keep away from anything that might annoy his probation officer. Instead, The NYP is reporting that he was out "drinking Dewar's on the rocks" with his daughter over the weekend.

Maybe Kiefer thinks of himself of a protective father, teaching his recently of age daughter Sarah Jude the ins and outs of responsible alcohol consumption. But with his record, it kinda looks like he's passing on some of his not-so great habits to the next generation.

After all, Sutherland might not be the best representative for moderation. Not only is he still on probation for a DUI he received in 2007, he recently swore off strong drink after the headbutting incident.

So far, he's set a decidedly questionable example for Sarah. In fact, answering rumors that episodes of 24 have been rewritten to accommodate injuries that Kiefer suffered while partying, he said:

"I can't deny half the stuff that's been written about me has been true. I've done some stupid things. You have to take responsibility, go, 'That was embarrassing,' and move forward as best you can."

What do you think, is Kiefer just doing some important bonding her, or should he avoid booze like the plague?

Christian Slater Does Right By His Kids

Talk about being a good father. Christian Slater was so set on proving the importance of education to his kids that he went back to school to get his GED. Slater, 39, has a couple of kids with his ex, Ryan Haddon. 9-year-old son Jaden and 7-year-old daughter Eliana considered it odd that their father didn't graduate from high school. Thing is, Christian was far too busy being a child star to get his diploma...well, that's not entirely true. There are lots of child stars who still go to school and graduate with honors. Christian just didn't deem education very important in his youth.

But the last thing you want as a parent is for your kids to repeat your mistakes. So the star of movies like "True Romance" and "Pump Up the Volume" (great soundtrack) went back to school. He told Parade magazine, "I wanted to be able to look my kids in the eye and feel they were looking in the eyes of somebody who was making an effort to take care of himself and be a better person.

"High school was not something that I remotely took seriously, and not I've got these kids, so it's like, 'Oh, gosh, what am I going to do? I obviously care for them to get an education, and I want them to take it seriously, so I'm going to have to do something.' I had to go to a high school lassroom with a bunch of kids getting their GED (General Equivalency Diploma). It was a 3-day test. I did very well on the reading portions of it. I was very proud of that."

Dude, you're an actor. Of COURSE you did well on reading! Pretty admirable thing to do, though. We must be good examples for our children. That's why I write snarky shit about celebrities, so my girls can look up to me and say, "They PAY you for that?"

"My Own Worst Enemy" is Christian's latest acting endeavor and it starts Monday on NBC. I'm looking forward to it, but the advance buzz isn't so great. I'm praying to the great TV gods it doesn't suck.

Kiefer Sutherland has been voted the Most Dashing Daddy of 2008! by Hello! Canada readers. They visited the website in droves and voted an unprecedented 91,000 strong for Kiefer Sutherland.

I bet it's the appeal of sexy, competent Jack Bauer from "24" that brought that many votes.

He's looking great at 40 and his daughter, Sarah, 20, is lovely. He may be "dashing" but he probably embarrasses her just as much as my dad liked to embarrass me.
