i'd just like to interject how horrible i think it is that she is trying to seduce nick jonas through her album pictures! in case you didn't know, he's well known for his rap "nick j is off the chain" and that just makes me sick. he and his brothers are trying really hard to be good influences and stand up for their beliefs and morals and values. and she's doing everything in her power to drag him into this. like how they claim he took the inappropriate pictures to send to nick. i doubt that. i would imagine he would be really angry to get pictures like that. maybe its just me, but not only is she a WHORE, but she also is a horrible person. people with moral fiber don't act like that. and NOT all teenagers act like that and dress like that. i'm 19 and i never did and still don't and neither do any of my friends or really any people in know at all. just because miley is a slut doesn't mean all teenage girls are like that. you can't just write it off as ok like that. it's NOT. and it disgusts me!!!

don't we read celebrity gossip just so that we can judge other people? it's nicer than being judgmental about real people, right? also, considering the amount of plastic surgery she's had, ashley simpson is probably very comfortable with elective surgery. personally, the thought of having my abdomen cut open terrifies me, but then i feel the same way about my nose or whatever it is that ashley simpson had done. i agree that if you support women freely choosing, for whatever reason, to abort, you can't logically fuss about women getting elective c-sections. but you CAN fuss about any decision that anyone with a press agent makes. if that's not okay with you, then you shouldn't ought to read celebrity gossip.

I agree Mamallama - I'm not dissin' anyone who has a C-section, I just think basing a decision to have one on "I'm scared," seems like there's not much thought being put in it. And yes, let's remember it's celebrity gossip - might NOT be true, and if it is, MAYBE she does have a valid reason other than lamaze classes scaring the crap outta her. Or maybe she doesn't. Anyway, I'm off to have cake - Nicole Kidman's post baby body is depressing me. Ha.

I agree that everyone has a choice for their own body...my comment was that fear wasn't a good reason for electing for surgery over vag birth. But then again, this is based on gossip and who knows what the real reason is. Honestly, why is she even telling the press and/or her unreliable friends who spill the beans to press.

Wow! I don't normally visit this site, but Jeez. I am having an "elective" c-section (in 10 days) because I fricken want one. Who cares what another woman does with her body? And it isn't only celebrities who are given the choice, normal people can usually request a c-section/induction if they so desire. As long as each woman educates herself about the possible risk of the procedure, why should anyone else care? Did I miss the memo that stated that a woman's "right to choose" only pertained to abortion?

Hello, 1 in 5 people are infected with Herpes and they cannot deliver vaginally. That is why c-section rates have gone up. That is why she is having one. You also cannot deliver vaginally if you have HPV, which a huge number of people have. So more c-sections. If everyone where faithful to one partner and used protection then the rates of c-sections would go down. In order for insurance companies to pay for c-sections the OB has to state, truthfully,a medical reason fo the procedure. In our porn pretend society everyone is getting STDs so c-section rates are rising dramtically. If we got back to old morals and behaviors then we would have more natural births.

I normally don't comment, but I just have to chime in and say that I had a totally elective C-section. There was no medical need whatsoever for me to have it but it was what I wanted. My Dr. agreed and it was the best decision ever. She came out healthy and just fine and my recovery was easy as pie.

I also agree that people should not think of c-sections as the "easy" way out. However, I think articles like these can "demonize" c-sections a little bit too. Ooo, c-sections are hard and awful and just the worst. Sure natural child birth is preferred, c-sections are difficult, but can there be a balance? Can women just support one another? Can we acknowledge that they are difficult but that some women need them and some women (very few) will chose them. And stop with all the judgement? In acknowledging they are difficult, can we also let women know that they are done every day, and they will get probably through it just fine, so everyone is not terrified of them? Who does that help? While it may not be most people's first choice, it can still be a good experience for mother and baby if it needs to be. And women should be way more focused on supporting one another through it in a positive way then scaring the crap out of everyone. I don't think that the lack of support is necessarily intentional. There is just some extreme rhetoric on either side of the debate. And I don't think anyone benefits from it.

It is too bad that Amanda Peet said this. I think everybody is entitled to their opinion. I personally am against vaccination. I represent a growing number of people because more and more people are becoming informed and not just listening to what their doctors say. For anybody who wants to really balance the debate and read why you should not vaccinate your child or yourself read Dr. Tenpenny's book Saying No to Vaccines. There is a lot of good information in there and all of her facts are backed up by reputable references. I saw Amanda Peet on a morning news show this morning and she said that vaccinations are not a medical debate. This is simply not true; it is not just "nervous little mothers" that are concerned about the safety of vaccines. There is also a growing number of scientists and doctors who are concerned and speaking out. Vaccine efficiency is based on epidemiology studies which are studies based on the pattern of epidemics. All of the vaccines were introduced at the end of the high disease incidences. This is their evidence that vaccines work?! It is far more likely that sanitation, less people being malnourished and the introduction of clean water systems that led to the decline of these diseases. If vaccinations are the only thing that can be responsible for the falling incidence of these diseases then how can we explain how diseases that were not routinely vaccinated against declined too such as yellow fever and TB? Furthermore the people who decide how many, how often etc your child and you receive vaccines are a board of 15 people who make up the ACIP. Every last one of these physicians are either working directly or making dividends to the tune of millions via stock from vaccination manufacturers. Are these really the people you want to trust with your child's best interest? There is major corruption in the CDC as well so if that is where you are getting your indisputable facts from then I'm sorry for you; you more than anybody need to get informed. Children and adults do in fact get permanently damaged and die from vaccines. The FDA admits that only about 10% of adverse reactions to vaccines are reported. This 10% is then grossly understated. If you read the facts on both sides which I have and you still believe that vaccinations are safe and effective then I have a lot of respect for that but to the people that don't even know what most of the diseases that we are vaccinating against are (which would really shock you since most have very little chance of harming a normal person permanently), get informed. Also, I'd like to shed some light on why she does not put sunscreen on her child... because the overuse of sunscreen is leading to a chronic deficiency in vitamin D (uvb rays are the main source) which leads to cancer and a whole other host of problems in addition to the chemicals. Dr. Mercola has several good articles on his website on both of these subjects (vaccines and sunscreen use). Vaccinations may become the biggest debate of our time and right now we dirty parasites are outnumbered however; the number of us hippies is growing rapidly. Think of it this way, why would we choose to do something that makes us outcasts and makes people call us parasites and not want their children to play with ours if there were not a really good reason? Just something to think about. Mrs. Peet and I agree on one thing…. we should not be getting advice on huge life affecting things like this from celebrities!
