ok- yes it's not ideal to get pregnant at such a young age...and yes it's a mistake. But the bigger mistake is to not make the most out of situations. everything happens for a reason, and once your pregnant, you become a mother and thats beautiful!!! no matter what your age!! and life doesnt end when you have a baby- a new life begins and yours changes, and im sure if you ask any mother, even a teen mother, they would say that their lives are better with their children in it!!!

-check your attitude and let a little more love into your heart...and take a good look at the baby that she has made..shes beautiful, no need to patronize her for being mature with the situation she is in...im sure that she will do a great job with her new baby!!!

Okay, [most] of you guys are taking this way and I mean WAY too seriously.

Let's face it... everyone is entiteled to their own opinion.

But there are ways to go about things, and insulting one another

just proves how immature and unclassy you are.

I personally don't commend Jaime-Lynn for having a baby that young.

I've never in my life met a 17 year old girl who was ready to be a mum.

Being a mother is an amazing journey.

One must be ready, and really look at all the dynamics of being a parent.

And as already being a child, you can't possibly see it the same way as a resposible adult, ready to have a child.

All we can do is hope for the best.

Is this for real? How do so many of you think that having a baby at 16 is a good thing? A baby is a huge responsibility and can ruin your chance to experience many other good things. I love kids, and i am 16, but would never consider having a baby before I am married, have gone to college, and am fully ready to take on such another life in my hands. This is crazy, and glorifying a 16 year old pregnancy is STUPID!

She may have gotten pregnant young but i still think she is good for taking responsibility for her child (who btw is very cute!0. i wish her all the best in motherhood. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Like said before age does not matter in order to have a child. But motherhood is also a thing that develops as the child grows. You will not know what to do until you are in that situation. I'm a 22 yr old university student, not married and don't have children, however I do have friends who do. And all of them have at least said once that raising a child is not an easy thing to do, and when your a teenager yourself trying to figure out the meaning of your own life yourself, it becomes complicated. None of them regret having their babies, but that's because they're responsible and strong people. Age does not define how good of a mother you are, but personnally, i think parenting is not an easy thing no matter how old you are, and the younger you are the harder it is.

But if a mistake happened and the teenager assumes her responsibilities thats great. Because if you have sex, you should know about the consequences, no matter what age you are.

Good look Jamie Lynn and all those mother out there of all ages.

AND I THINK JAMIE MARIE IS A 47YR OLD GUY WHO HASN'T BEEN LAID IN 7 YEARS, DESPERATELY SEEKING FOR ATTENTION. SO SAD, GOOD LUCK IN GETTING LAID JAMIE MARIE.

I honestly don't understand why people got so appalled when Jamie Lynn got pregnant. Jamie Lynn has been a great role model to her viewers on zoe 101 and nothing now she is a great role model to any teenage girl who finds herself in Jamie Lynn's position. She has been responsible during her pregnancy and so far, has appeared to be very excited about starting this new chapter in her life. I think it is very respectable that she had the baby and is going to raise her when so many girls her age and younger act irresponsibly when they get pregnant.

I'm not going to fight with everyone like a lot of you are doing. Everyone has their opinion. I personally think Jamie Lynn Spears is doing a great job. She's a young hollywood mother who had a baby at 17, if your friend had a baby when you two were 17 you would help her out and not bash her and talk about her negatively. So what if Jamie Lynn was on nick? Her boyfriend and her have been together for a while, IT'S HER CHOICE. She's amazing for keeping her child, and not putting it in a tabloid frenzy situation. Her daughter has only been in 'Ok' magazine, and those are the only pictures you'll find of her daughter. She's doing an amazing job for her age, and her family is going to help her, yes, but that is what family is for.

Congratulations!

P.s. Maddie (Her daughter) is so adorable :)
