As for Bridget’s comments about Palin, she has made a valid point about the innate selfish nature of most of mankind (and Palin). Most humans think only about human beings and their needs regardless that it may be at the expense of the rest of the world. Humans are not the only species of life on earth.

Actually, Bridget Bardot is an extremely intelligent and articulate woman who has balls enough to say what she thinks and to mean what she says. Bridget is not necessarily a bigot and does not apparently discriminate against anyone. She has simply spoken openly about an observation that reflects what many open, tolerant and intelligent people think but may not vocalize.

Throughout history, the population of one country has invaded another country because they wanted to claim territory in the new country for their benefit. In many cases, the invading country, imposed their language, traditions and religious beliefs on the defeated nation against the will of the people. It happened quickly and in most cases very violently.

Throughout history, people have chosen to move to another country because they wanted to adopt that country's native language, religious practices, traditions, style of dress, etc. For whatever reason, they were not happy in their native country. No problem practicing their native language and traditions at home, but they embraced the core "public" culture and fabric of the new country. This includes the native language(s), dress, food, traditions, etc. that give that country a unique, strong and proud identity and create cohesion among the population. The foreigners assimilated because they wanted to. In this day in age, many foreigners move to another country BUT continue to behave the same way, to think the same way, to dress the same way, to speak their native language, and to practice the same traditions of their native country openly and publicly in the new country as though they never left their homeland. In certain cases this includes some very strict religious beliefs and practices that dominate their native culture and that do not mesh well with the cultural practices of the new country. The new country now appears as an extension of their homeland and the native inhabitants may become a little uncomfortable as the identity of their homeland appears to change without their consent.

Back in the day, native inhabitants may have addressed this as an invasion. The only difference is that today it comes at a slower pace and it is legally allowed. The foreigners are aware that they are protected and that there is no longer a need, or desire, to assimilate. They have now claimed a piece of territory in a new nation and they invite their friends and family to come along to do the same. The fabric of the nation changes, social programs originally intended for and paid by the native population become overburdened, cohesion among the population becomes lost and conflict may begin. Those natives that voice concern over losing their country’s native culture and their proud identity are now labeled bigots and may be fined. The new age of invaders are protected.

If you move to another country, please try to respect that country’s rich, proud and unique cultural identity. This requires you to speak their language, to respect and follow their native traditions and to remember that you are a guest in that country. If you choose to take up full time residence in that country, please don’t believe it is ok to act as though you are still in your native land. You are not.

Sarah Palin is wildly unqualified for the office of vice president. One job of the VP is to be ready to take over the presidency in the event of the passing of the president. Huh? A few months ago, she asked, "just what does the vice president do all day?" The fact that John McCain asked her to run for this office is almost surreal. There are so many intelligent, knowing, experienced, balanced republican women that were passed over for reasons only McCain knows.

I am a Democrat, philosophically, and could never vote republican. But, even the most well-known and dyed-in-the-wool republican partisans decry McCain's decision on this one. Sarah Palin defines the extreme side of the GOP. The late Jerry Falwell injected religion/evangelicism into politics many years agol. It has taken its toll on both parties, dividing them in some cases mercilessly and has altered the democratic process horribly. Hopefully, the nation can recover and we can return to being Americans with a wealth of respect for each others opinions without the division and hate that born-agains have injected into the process.

Sarah palin is a Lady, of which Mrs. Bardot knows nothing about. Sarah Palin has Godly morals of which Mrs. Bardot has none. Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air, of which Mrs. Bardot.s breath stinks to the lowest-hell. Everyone brags about Mrs. Bardot past beauty, but as you can now very well tell, has been lost in her older days. As for as physical beauty is concerned, Mrs. Bardot and her admirers can only glory in her vain past. Let Mrs. Bardot keep her stinking comments to where she now lives, and we Americans will choose whom we will. Let Mrs Bardot stay with the animals of which she is in better company with. I like BB and I think that she is making good points. She may be a bit out of touch in some ways but does have redeeming characteristics. Sarah Palin, on the other hand, does not.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Bridget Bardot saying Palin is a disgrace? come on. Bardot is a former sex icon, that's how she made her money. Now she just finds random issues to support. Palin is a role model becuase she represents the 21st century woman: one who is a leader, clearly knows politics to a T, yet still raises a family.
