I am totally undecided! I am a new mom and like all want what's best and worry about the "what if's" to all decisions my husband and I make for our son of 2 mos. However, I do not have much trust in large companies, especially the CDC, where they can and do, only tell you what you want to hear. I am not saying that vaccines cause autism and that the CDC is covering it up but i've got to ask, what if the CDC is ignoring these accusations because they are figuring that the benefits outweigh the risks? Are they looking at the sitituation as, out of the 1/150 kids who have autism, is it worth the chance of autism to protect all children of the deases they are vaccinated for? Or where they are so unclear of the cause of autism, are parents trying to find the causes for themselves by blaming the vaccines? I also believe where we have had such an increase in dianosed autism since the 1980's, that all the new chemicals that are being added to our foods may be the cause. Also, what about all the new medications circulating at such a higher rate now days because doctors just seem to want to throw a pill at everything from birthcontrol to depression! I think I'm going to hold off on vaccinating my son and see if more studies unfold. But I am a firm believer that children should only get necessary vaccines, chickenpox and flu shots or not on my list!

The overwhelming research discredits the supposed link between vaccines and autism. Andrew Wakefield, who first posited the link, is now barred from practicing medicine and is being brought up on ethics charges.

Jenny McCarthy also believes that her son is psychic because he has blue eyes. She runs a group called "IndigoMoms", as reported by Strollerderby. Question vaccines? Don't listen to Jenny. You're on equal footing if you consult a psychic.

As for dairy free/gluten free as a "cure" - My autistic son is also soon to be undiagnosed and he binges on milk every day. The diagnostic criteria is so broad now that children who are only mildly affected are labeled autistic, and many of these children just grow out of it. This is the truth about autism.

But whatever the reason that her son was affected, good for her for trying every possible option to see if anything would make things better for him. I hope she also realizes how lucky he is that there was a solution out there to help him.
