If Jake couldn't bring himself to be at the funeral something must be very wrong--unfortunately if so many people who didn't know Heath remain paralyzed with grief

then we can only imagine what must be going in Jake's mind---this is a tragedy without end...

Its a phenomena with Heath and shows how full of meaning his short life time was on the Earth. He should be rightfully proud of himself. He evoked so much consious and unconsious love in a great amount of unfamiliar people around the world.

I can say the same about me, it has been and still is the biggest grief I ever felt by death of a public person I had never known. I loved him since Knights Tale, and followed most of his films but never been a FAN. Why I still can not get over the loss of him? Why I, 31 year old, still cry every f*king day and cannot let go the thoughts of him, Jake, and feelings his close people have...He was such a light...a beautiful creature, and Earth feels empty without this person.

You will always stay young, bright and beautiful.

I still wish all this has been an error and he's still alive. Never has a death of someone I don't know affected me so much. I find myself incapable of mentioning him without feeling this incredible sadness in my heart... He was an incredible actor... I have seen Brokeback Mountain a lot of times and I'm always impressed by his and Jake's performances...My love and commpasion to his family, his daughter,Michelle, and Jake, we mourn with you. Still crying...

My prayers go out to Jake, Michelle Williams and to the family of Heath Ledger. I have been through what these people are going through-three times and it is rough. These people have a right to their privacy and it should be respected. Too many times we often want to know this or that about a person and we need to stop and ask ourselves do we want someone to do this to our family? In an industry known for conceit, backbiting, rivalry, jealousy, one actor formed an everlasting friendship with another actor to entrust the care of his daughter. The main thing is that there is a child who is without a father and she will need all the love and support that those around her can give. To Jake and Michelle, know that my prayers are with you and the family for Heath is in a place where there is no pain, no war, no violence, no poverty, no sickness but everlasting joy, peace and eternal love. May the angels watchover him eternally.

The bonds of friendship can grow far deeper than we can imagine and in ways that blend into the core of our thinking and being. To have only read about the surface is a mere whisper of all that lies beneath. I am devastated...so to even presume to know the depths of Jake and Michelle's pain is impossible, considering the intricacies of their times together.

I have never been this upset before when an actor has died..I cried then and still i cry..I didn't even know him..I keep thinking that there is someone wrong with me for feeling sooooooo sad...i have read other comments and sounds like i'm not the only one...have had to keep these feelings to myself though people may think me silly...i keep thinking / hoping that there has been a mistake and it's all wrong....his family & friends must be in bits, they must travel their lives without him..it's sad to lose someone so young whoever they are is there any justice? There is no way he would have taken his own life..he would not have left them in so much pain....he went to sleep and never woke up...

my eyes continue to overflow.My heart continues to painfully break over Heath's death.If I am feeling this inconsolable over his death, just from loving him for his portrayal of Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain,HOW must his family and friends be feeling???

I don't care if you're a man with a woman. Man with a man. Woman with a woman. Love scenes, friendship and laughter scenes, any avid movie goer can sometimes spot the rare chemistry some actors gain when shooting a film. Sometimes it turns into romance (Angelina & Brad). Sometimes life long friendships (Drew Barrymore & Cameron Diaz.) You could just see it in their eyes that they were close. Not lovers but two grown straight men who had the best buddy fondness for each other which in turn produces a type of brotherly love. There's no doubt in my mind that he's lost a great friend and his heart is broken. I've never met Jake or Michelle Williams for that matter but my thoughts are with them and Heath's family everyday. If they ever read these blogs all I can say is it takes time, and it hurts, but it does get better. The heavens have gained another star.

In fact, all of us can not suffer from this trauma.

It's so terrible that the Entaintment Industry lost one of their excellent actor.

I am a straight male but was curious about Brokeback Mountain. I finally did see it via DVD...I was so sad when Jake's character died..it's seems so ironic that in real life Heath Ledger died....I was very saddened by his death...I pray for his family and close friends..that they will find peace and comfort. RIP Heath...you truly were a gift to us all!!

The baby's mother is still alive. Jake will likely always be around, but unless both parents died, Jake will continue to be a Godfather as he was when Heath was alive.

Heath and Jake gave a strong portrayal of gay life for certain people. It was incredible what they did. I don't think either of them realize the gift they gave. In 500 years from now, people will still watch this movie and they'll wish they could somehow meet these guys. Long after both will be gone. Immortality in movies.

I absolutely loved Brokeback Mtn. and wondered about how Jake was dealing with this nightmare. He'll talk about Keith when he is ready. I felt the same way when I lost my best friend.

I love Jake G. and have for a long time. I was always partial to his character in Brokeback, because of my love for him as an actor in general. I watched Brokeback last night with an open mind and was blown away by Heath's performance. He really should have won the Oscar. I feel for all who loved him and we, the fans. We have lost someone truly outstanding in so many different ways.

It took a full day before my sister and I could even mention it to each other. This man's death has shaken a lot of people. I simply can't believe it. We are keeping him, his friends and family in our prayers.

i agree with sarah:

i would have expected jake to react that way, afterall he has never been very outward toward the media when it come to his private life....

they were best friends (jake even said in an interveiw) so it is normal - how would we all react if our best friend died? i hope the media leave him alone...he deserved to have his moruning HIS way...not just so the press is happy to see a cry film star!

i hope he can be with heath's wife michelle...i guess they'll need each other....

my respects to the families...friends...close ones....and especially mcihelle, their daughter and jake...
