She said that that lack of "normal" cuts, scrapes, and bruises indicated that the child was likely not getting enough physical activity and stimulation. I felt MUCH better once she said that as I glanced at my scabby and bruised daughter!

Currently we have lightly scraped knees, a paper cut on the foot (who knew reading could be such an active activity!), and a bonk right next to the eye. Good luck!

THe other day she fell face-first into the pavement. That didn't look so good. I think it's just the age!

Yes, theres a but, some things are just so ...specific to the visual impairment. Im glad you're reading and I look forward to your input on my ramblings.

I have a 15 month old grand-daughter, who is the apple of my eye, she was diagnosed with Optic nerve hypoplasia at age 4months, and talk about getting a ton of bricks dropped on you, wow! I was browsing the internet trying to find, i don't know, anything, something that said, "I understand!" I can read your stories and they touch my heart. I have faith and hope that my grand-daughter, whom, by the way, totally has a mind of her own, will grow to be a well adjusted individual with ONH, Sey la Vi. Thanks for your inspirations, honesty and genuinessness. I look foward to reading more, and who knows, we may learn from each other, i'm definately feeling less reactive and more proactive, with daily living.

I'm just about as clumsy as they get, always got bruses and cuts, but only had the one broken bone (when I was a kid, broke my collar bone when I fell onto a rocking horse from a bed I was bouncing on!). I think a lot of kids are just accident prone anyway, they're too excited to stop and sense any danger, they just wanna run and run some more!

I hope she gets well soon, sick babes are a worry :-S Give her a big hug from me!

xox
