Meet the Fosters

If He Could Talk to the Animals

I admit it. This is the lazy blogger's post.  It's my turn to write something, but it's late and all this thinking is making my head hurt. I'm trying to focus on writing but find myself getting distracted by one thought..."Should I pack chicken nuggets or peanut butter and jelly for Ty's lunch tomorrow?"

So while I pull it together, here's some pictures from the west coast trip of Ty and The Animals. How have your kids responded to two- and four-legged creatures?

When my oldest was a baby, I used to take her to the zoo all the time, mainly because it's close by and I got sick of walking around our own neighborhood. For a long time, she really didn't see the animals, other than the occasional Canada goose who waddled up to us, but then one day we were at the giraffe habitat, and she suddenly noticed. I still remember the look of total awe on her face, like, "OMG! Did you see what I just saw?"

Gorgeous pictures. #6 is my favorite!!  My babe loves the animals, but is a little leary of cows. We had her 3rd 1st birthday party at a little farm and when the cow sneezed or something like a sneeze, she freaked out.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, you wrote over 7,000 words in this post.  That doesn't sound lazy at all.  Take a break.  Put your feet up.  Contemplate tomorrow's lunch.  You deserve it.  :)

I second L&C. Ty is adorable--not complaining about any pics you post! He does seem to be suffering from "Not-Looking-At-The-Camera" syndrome, which my 16 month old has. It's really hard to get him to slow down enough to snap his face; we've got tons of pics of the back of his head. So it goes.

The first few years that we took my son to the zoo all he noticed were the ducks and other birds. I don't think he even noticed the other animals until last summer. Now his favorite it the white alligator.
