If there's a happy ending for Democrats in this election year fairy tale, it won't be with President Hillary Clinton and Vice President Barack Obama leading their kingdom together happily ever after in Washington, D.C.
The so-called Dream Team ticket, which Hillary had hinted at all last week, ain't gonna happen, Barack Obama insisted after he gathered up 12 more delegates following his big win in the Wyoming caucus.
From Top of the Ticket at LATimes.com:
"... You won’t see me as a vice presidential candidate. You know, I’m
running for president. We have won twice as many states as Senator Clinton, and have a higher popular vote, and I think we can maintain our delegate count."
Bill Clinton is also pressing the idea, perhaps to convince Obama, perhaps to plant the idea in voters' minds.
In the past, Political Nanny enthused about the Clinton/Obama dream ticket. But, unless they do an uncomfortable amount of kissing and making up -- perhaps even campaign couples' therapy -- the whole idea feels awkward.
