Straight From the Bottle

How Did I Live Without Her? (I want to know)

You know that saying: you never know what you've got 'till it's gone? How about this one: You only know what you got, when you're gone. As in, gone from the house for ten-hours a week. Taking a load off. Doing some work. Blasting music from the station wagon. Music that isn't suitable for children. Like Peaches and that Fischerspooner song about poop. (Wait-- Archer would LOVE the Fischerspooner poop song. Mental note: introduce Archer to the Fischerspooner poop song.)

Not only am I a joyous worker-bee when Nanny Lauren shows up and I ship-out, but Archer is a saint in her presence. He doesn't throw tantrums at her feet and go apeshit. He plays quietly and just... is.

Shiny, happy Archer holding hands... la, la, la.

Which is quite a different story from the way he is with me.

Dickie Dickens

I swear...If you look at this photo closely you will see the fires of hell in Archer's eyes.

And so, while weeks ago I was a little bit sad and tiny bit afraid to leave Archer behind, today I can say, quite proudly, that I am thrilled, elated, pants-on-fire relieved to have the time away Not to mention, the joy and relief in having someone Archer and I adore here with him while I am.

I honestly don't know how I ever functioned without her.

I actually was thinking about you this weekend and betting quietly to myself (and hoping for you at the same time) that we would see this post soon!

I am glad things are working out.  Keep on rocking in your car alone.  That  is my favorite thing to do when I am away from the kids.

We can all be better parents if we remember to take care of ourselves. Keep on setting a great example for all of us out there--we deserve time to ourselves, if for no other reason than to recharge our batteries to make us better parents.

It's so easy to forget to do...

I have got to get me one of those shirts. That is stylin'!

Yeah, I had that same look in my eyes as a kid. My mom used to regularly check my forehead for a 666...
