Straight From the Bottle

Our Vacation From Vacation

Just returned from a lovely week spent at my parent's house in San Diego and wouldn't you know it? My little kooky rebel could not have been sweeter or better behaved. (Do you think maybe he read my last post? Did one of you come to him at night and lecture him on his insanity? Seriously. What happened?)

I think we both needed a vacation from our vacation because after a week of hanging by the pool, going to the beach and watching the "Lalimpics" Archer and I are back to being best buds. No breakdowns for either of us. I even managed to take him to a prenatal appointment last Monday and watched in awe as he sat beside me with his hands folded in his lap.

"I'm so impressed!" my doctor said. "He's so well behaved."

Uh.....Uh.... Uh..... Uh......

Have we turned a corner? I hope so. Regardless I feel very relieved that my child hasn't gone completely psycho. He's actually rather pleasant. He fell in love with the Solar System this week. His favorite planet is Saturn because "it has big rings!" and "ouder space is so cool, mommy. We live on planet Erfth!")

Here's a little video of Archer with his cousin, reading his favorite "Saturn book"...

And a photo of Archer who insisted on trying on his baby sister's new sweater because "is real cute."

If You Want to Stretch Out Her Sweater...

And one more of Archer and my mom who pretty much taught Archer to swim in a week. With floaties, of course. But still.

Archer and Gooey

In conclusion, everything's relatively back to normal. We have a few playdates planned for next week, a beach trip or two and if worst comes to worst, my parent's house is only two hours away. Because apparently, Archer is much more relaxed down there.

Then again, they do have a pool. How could our measly little Water Table ever compete with that?

I know! How cute is that? And he's 16!!! How many 16 year olds would sit down and make Saturn out of Lite Brites for a cousin they just met? (We're distant cousins.) I was watching the two of them in awe. I wish he lived closer!

"That Saturn have BIG rings!  No, that Jupiter.  THAT Saturn."  TOO freaking adorable!!!  What a smart cookie!

Glad things are "back to normal."  ;-)

Wow, the older he gets the more he changes.  I can almost see the teenager in him. LOL  Great sweater btw.

Glad he's turned a corner and back to being buddies.

Ok, the sweater picture just kills me!  That face!  It's like he knows that he volunteered for possible blackmail as he begins to date later (MUCH later) in life.

BTW - just got Stephanie's book and I can't wait for the kiddo's nigh-night time so Mommy can read in frick'in peace.

MUAH!
