Straight From the Bottle

Lovesick, Homebound

Forgive me for my silence this past week. I've been busy. But more than that I've had no desire to blog, email, call or see anyone. I've been pretty much homebound since we came home from the hospital last Friday and honestly? Have no real desire to ever leave again. (Is that weird? Or...)

Apparently we're in the throes of some kind of economic crisis? The end of the world is nigh? You don't say?

I've been far too busy gazing into the eyes of my newborn, playing with little toes and hosting evening cuddle-fests with my family of four, which is still a shock to say aloud. Family of four. Two children...

Doll.

I'm slowly posting Fable's birth story and will have the full three chapter tale to post, here on Straight From the Bottle later this week as soon as I can get my head out of my baby's ass. For now? I'll leave you with a "best of this week" photo spread, featuring Miss Fable, who by the way, eats like a champ (I'm able to pump about two ounces of breastmilk per feeding which YAY! With Archer I was only able to pump 1/2 of that on a good day) sleeps like a dream and couldn't get any cuter if I paid her a million trillion dollars...

Fable 7

Also, can I just say that transitioning from one baby to two has been much easier than I thought? Archer loves his sister so much he even made up a song he calls "seester song" to sing to her, hasn't acted jealous even for a second and even sleeps through her cries when she wakes up at night (which is WHOA crazy as he's always been a light sleeper and our bedrooms are attached.)

I'm knocking on wood like crazy but honestly? Everything really is fabulous-amazing. Everyone wins! Hooray!

Hal's pretty stoked, too.

Kiss

Even Archer can't get enough of his "baby seester!"

 Fable 4

And now, I will stumble for the right words to end this post, realizing after ten minutes of trying to construct a closing sentence that I seem to have misplaced my brain and ability to come up with anything clever and/or witty.

Maybe I should get out of the house, eh?

Oh, she`s absolutely gorgeous. I love that last pic . . . a sign of things to come, perhaps? :)

I`m glad it`s going smoothly. Isn`t it weird to get used to being mom of TWO? I remember exclaiming to the nurses in the delivery room after my second, "I can`t believe I have TWO KIDS!" Enjoy.

Her eyes are ridiculously stunning. Wow. Like black holes of adorableness that just suck you in.

Keep on doin' nothing. These first few weeks are the weeks when time literally stops--but then it starts again when they're not so teeny anymore. Drink it all in when you can.

And thanks for sharing.

She is absolutely gorgeous! But I also love all the pink (and brown!) - and I'm a totally non-pink person. making me hanker after a little girl...

I'm no fan of pink either but the pink and brown (which is everywhere, btw) is making me swoon. Even Target has some rockin' Dwell by Target blankies and layette. The blankie in the first photo was part of a three pack for $13. Can't beat that!

I've seen all the pics on this and your other site.  She is seriously adorable!  Congratulations.  It's really hard to concentrate, much less be witty and clever the first month or so after having a baby (for me it was about 9 months).

SUCH a beautiful girl. I had my second girly on June 1st and went through the same never-want-to-leave-the-house-again phase. I am still in it really. :) Congrats!

The second picture of her staring straight into the camera is pretty intense - what a beautiful baby.  I love the last one, makes me think she'll bring some drama to your life.  :)

Oh my gosh you lucky woman!!!  I'm so glad to hear that Archer is having a great time being a BIG brother, sounds like he was born to be one :)  Also I have to say seeing pictures of your beautiful daughter is making me have baby fever... I have three boys and had come to terms with not having a daughter in my lovely family until I looked at pictures of Fable!!!  She is seriously the cutest little girl I've ever seen, WOW. Are you planning on writing a sequel to Rockabye???
