Nor will it ever, most likely. Actually, wait. I'm pretty sure I remember a few flakes back in the early months of 2000. Or maybe I was just... drunk. Of course, I'd love to see some snow here. LOVE. And I'm not talking about soapsuds or faux-snow in Venice Beach or The Grove

It's been raining though. So I can say with all honesty that the weather outside is frightening. For the first time this year: consecutive rainy-days, which is perplexing, really, because besides jerking around on my computer I'm not so good with the indoor-activity, especially where Archer is concerned. Our usual day-in-the-life consists of early-afternoon outings to outdoor destinations. Except obviously for the past week, we've been forced to be creative, indoors. Yesterday we had "Pajama Party Central" at Casa De Bottle. Sweatpants and Ugg boots all the live-long day, a brief and sloppy game of Amoeba Bike Hockey (with a feather duster and a block) and then, Legos, of course. Lots of Legos.

Of course today cabin-fever set in so I journeyed with a friend and her son to a place over on Robertson called The Treehouse Social Club which I wish I would have known about two and a half years ago. Because as far as mom/kid-friendly chill-joints goes it exceeded my expectations! Treehouse fun-zone for kids, coffee and food served for parents. Kind of out of the way in Beverly Hills, but well worth the drive. Lattes served strong and a delicious menu of yummies but best of all: WIFI! Woohoo! Blogging while your kid frolics in a safe environment? Everyone wins! Highly recommend it for anyone in the L.A. area and/or those passing through.

Of course, post-nap, Arch and I were home and back to wrestling with the dogs until dinner and then, with our faces pressed against the window.

I feel like I need to work on my indoor creativity when the weather is less than appropriate for outdoor fun, so (of course) as I so often do, I'm turning to you, ma readahz. How do people who live in cold, snowy/wet places deal with winter? What are
some of your favorite indoor activities to do with your kids? I'd love
to know so I can steal them for Indoor Activity Week, and/or provide a list for readers (and myself) of some great indoor family fun for this fine holiday season. If you have a Treehouse Social Club like place in your 'hood, tell me about it. I imagine I'm not the only mom living under a rock, completely clueless that such beacons of hope exist for stay-at-home parents.

Or am I?

***
