Getting Play-Doh Out of the Carpet

Play-DohDoh!

This is a question that has been troubling frustrated parents for years. How do I get Play-Doh out of my carpet?

We should have just asked Yahoo! (I didn't even know you could ask Yahoo! You with think with all the time I spend on the internet I would have run across this before, but nope.)

Yahoo! asked Hasbro who makes Play-Doh. Hasbro says to let the Plah-Doh dry and then use a stiff brush to break it up. After it is all broken up, just use a dust buster or vacuum it right up.

Play-Doh also just introduced a pick up stick tool that I could only find sold with their Creativity Cetner.

Or you can just do what I did. Pull the carpet up. It peels right off of hardwood, or worst case scenario I use a damp rag.

My kids love Play-Doh, but they make a huge mess every single time. Espeically the boy. Then again, Hasbro says that Play-Doh is for children 36 months and up, and my kids are only 2 1/2.

Now I am going to go see if Yahoo! has any secrets about getting cat vomit out of my carpet. I figure it can't hurt to at least try.

Play-Doh is the infamous gift you give to a kid strictly to torture their parents.  It is also the reason why my mother always though the perfect kid room was one that was tiled on the floor and four feet up the walls, with a drain in the middle.

It is also why I am loath to get rugs for my hardwood floors.  My feet are frickin' cold in the mronings, but if I don't have to deal with dried-up Play-Doh everywhere, it's worth it.

Or just re-do (re-Doh?) your floor with the stuff.  It gets hard eventually.

I always loathed the stuff, even as a kid.  I hated the smell.

Two words for the Doh-haters: Moon Sand.

I almost don't know whether to laugh or cry with this stuff, but I do know this: it vacuums up like a dream.
