I don't know if it is time to lock up the children, or time to let them out. Police just busted a child porn ring that involves more than 2,360 people from 77 countries. This was a global online child pornography ring. Am I surprised that there is child porn out there on the internet? No. Am I surprised there at over 2000 perverts globally? No. Do you want to know what does surprise me? This - in a '24-hour period, investigators recorded more than 8,000 hits from 2,361
computer I.P. addresses in 77 countries ranging from Algeria to South
Africa'.
These people got over 8,000 hits in ONE DAY. Child porn is bigger than Dooce! (That may not be true, Heather may get more than 8,000 hits a day, I have no idea.)
I have been thinking that these parents that were getting all weird about MySpace and age verification were overreacting, but if eight-freaking-thousand people were paying $89 each to check out this site in one single day, maybe we should be worried. Or maybe you were already worried, and now I should be worried.
