Legitimately sad?  From a parents' POV maybe, but those boys are "rock stars" among their teen male peers. I'm almost positive of that.

She's simply a pedophile. They come in all shapes,sizes and genders. She was in a position of authority and trust - much like a priest or boy scout leader - and abused the juveniles in her care. Whether the boy is a "rock star" or not has no bearing. She had sex with A CHILD. He'd probably be a rock star if he knocked off a bank or told the principal to F Off - doesn't make it okay just because he may be getting slaps on the back. She's sick.
