Rebecca Odes and Ceridwen (I like typing that) Morris are at it again. In the latest "Parental Advisory" column on Babble, the From the Hips authors are debunking the notion that stranger or separation anxiety occurs at predetermined times throughout babyhood.
Say the gals, "(D)espite the universal proclamations, babies do go through different levels
of attachment at different times."
How to combat stranger anxiety? Get strangers involved. In short, make friends of those baby "enemies." But gently, of course.
