I admit, until about a year ago I had no idea what
SEO stood for. Serial Exit Organizer? Standard Equivalent Outhouse?
Nah. So then, even when I knew it stood for search-engine optimization, I was like, What??
But new or about-to-be parents, they're steps ahead of me.
In fact, they're Googling prospective baby names so that their little
Jacobs and Emilys won't have to compete with all the other Jacobs and
Emilys, because actually they will be naming their kids Metallica or Debraska or Quillan, Kaytaquana, or even Scatman to ensure "that their kids won’t face too much competition in securing a high search rank."
And
smart parents-to-be are even securing web domains for their SEO'd
offspring. What do you think: is all this necessary to get ahead? Or is
this a little much?
