Baby Wipes: The New Duct Tape?

wipesI use baby wipes for a lot of different things around my house. Sure, I use them on my kids who still aren't potty trained when I change diapers, but I also use them for kleenex, for wiping down tables when we go out to eat, for wiping off faces and hands... you know, that kind of stuff. I never put a lot of thought into it. They just always seemed to be handy when I needed something. On the other hand, Matthew from Child's Play x2 has put a great deal of thought into this.

Besides the obvious, Matthew claims that he has used wipes for: cleaning tile grout, polishing his shoes, cleaning his windshield wiper blades, quickly wiping down the toilet before visitors arrive and slicking back his hair.

Maybe they really are the new duct tape. If you can think of more uses, go let Matthew know.

They are the best spot remover for clothes.  I have gotten many a spot off of my shirts.  And I use them for all the uses you mentioned.

If you care about the earth, though, baby wipes are more wasteful than conventional cleaning methods, i.e. a rag and some water, maybe a squirt of cleanser. Wipes are neither flushable, compostable nor recyclable and go straight into the landfill.

We use baby wipes to clean the inside of the car.   There are places on the dashboard that the swiffer just won't get but baby wipes get it every time.

I have also used baby wipes to freshen up after a sweaty outing.  If we want to hit the diner after a sweaty day at the park, a couple of baby wipes take care of the worst grodyness!  In fact, when I was in high school, I used to ride my bike to work and then use a couple of baby wipes to undo the worst damage before clocking in.

I just bought a couch from Room & Board and they suggested we use baby wipes to remove any spots we might get on it.

we use them for cleaning bike parts!  my husband is a downhill mountain biker and he fixes/builds his own bikes.  they shine up a bike really well!  the "sensitive" pampers wipes take bike chain grease and other lubricants off like nothing else!  you can also use them to clean your hands after working on cars, too.
