Kitchenista: More 3 Second Meals... Bourdain can Bite Me

Now that chef Anthony Bourdain is picking on sweet little Rachael Ray, he's the new object of my non-cooking ire. Ok, so perhaps RR was a bit irresponsible for shilling for Dunkin Donuts, I still think she's heading in the right direction by reducing meal prep time and desnobbifying the world of fancy chefs like Martha...

Three second meals are those easy but reasonably healthy alternatives to the fancy things that populate fancy cookbooks and drive many of us to default to McDonalds or other unhealthy sins. So let's talk peanut butter and jelly for dinner, shall we?

If you use natural peanut butter, wheat bread, and 100% fruit, PB & J is a quiet dinner revolution, baby. And it only takes seconds. Yes, there aren't any veggies, but you can throw in some baby carrots for good measure, assuming they're not tainted with salmonella....

For another nummy and easy to prepare meal, check out foodiepalooza's cheesy buttery pasta....

Rachel Ray is annoying as stink - especially when she's stuffing little "Sammies" in her cakehole that she has fried up in "EVOO".

Unless she's skanked out in Maxim, there's no reason to pay her any mind.

"sweet little rachel ray"?!?!? you have got to be kidding me. I get the point of view about liking the easiness of quick-prep moderately healthy meals for busy people that still want to eat like a family, but she is SO ANNOYING. And, btw, there are actual chefs like Jaques Pepin, that do FAST FOOD any person with the most minimal kitchen experience can prepare. He has a whole book on it- Fast Food My Way-- meaning, fast and not full of processed crap. And he doesn't shill for dunkin donuts.

you guys are so, so completely wrong about this. anthony bourdain is the one de-snobbifying the food world. HE's the one who's got the attitude most babble readers enjoy. have you ever even read any of his books ("Kitchen Confidential?") or seen his tv shows?

I can't believe i'm reading this in Babble! Bourdain is one of us! I agree with Boy Meets Grill, Rachael is a silly twit who throws together prepackaged processed food into pots and calls it a 30 minute meal. She dulls our minds with her silly pop phrases, and hypnotic perkiness clearly designed for the lowest common denominator. Bourdain berates her mindless foolishness, and I'm totally behind him for calling her on the stupid Dunkin' Donuts promotion.

Anthony Bourdain??? I think I watched him once on the food network. He was eating tripe or something like that. And chain smoking. Ick!!!! So we are all worried about our kids eating a donut?? Why?? How about moderation?? An occasional donut won't kill you, now 10 a week--that might do some damage. I try as hard as the next parent to do the right thing for my children--healthy fresh food, plenty of fruit and veggies, balanced meals. That isn't saying that my children have NEVER had McDonalds or a donut. They have. I don't mind RR, but that's me. And if someone offered me a boatload of money to drink Dunkin Donuts coffee and eat a donut, I'd be on it like ugly on an ape.
