I have so been there. Well, not exactly there, but drifting in the general direction. That weird feeling of being so overwhelmed with the easiest tasks: pick up fallen scrap of paper, carry to trash can, drop in; or sippy cup of milk in the sink, open lid, set in upper dishwasher rack. Nope, can't do it. Sometimes, it all just feels like too much and I just walk away for awhile. Anyone else?
This guy in Australia had whatever it is in the extreme and his daughter got taken away. Granted, there were maggots in the food and his daughter slept on a urine soaked mattress, and the dog was underfed and had fleas. Around here, we’ve all got clean sheets and fresh fruit, so no need to call CPS. I’m just saying, that melancholy can sure get you.
The 27-year-old father, an unemployed student, had been profoundly depressed for five years (which also happens to be how hold is daughter is), his parents told the judge as they stood by him in court. He did some jail time and, now released, gets to see his daughter on supervised visits. I’m just going to assume he’s getting psychological help and medication.
Indeed, moms aren't the only ones who get the blues.
