Brandon Bonner James first learned that his 2-year old "Mimi" was missing when her saw her picture on television. Fortunately, the little girl came through the ordeal mostly unscathed, despite wandering around a Fort Worth Chuck E. Cheese's, shoeless, alone and token-less.
Workers at the Cheese found Mimi just before closing time and called the cops. Mimi, being two, could only tell them her name so they called the media to get some help with getting her found. Mimi's aunts, as it turned out, had taken her to the restaurant for a birthday party, then each thought that the other one was taken her home.
As much as I'd like to point the finger of shame at them, I find it really hard to concentrate in a Chuck E. Cheese, too. It's a wonder I can get in and out of one without taking a hostage, much less with both of my kids.
Mimi is currently in the care of Child Protective Services.
