Parents Try to Sell Baby on E-Bay

You know those things we say in jest when we're up at 2am or 5am and at our wit's end and threaten to sell our children to the gypsies?

Apparently one German couple wasn't kidding. Here's what the ad said:

"Offering my nearly new baby for sale, as it has gotten too loud. It is a male baby, nearly 28 inches (70 cm) long and can be used either in a baby carrier or a stroller.."

The 23-year old mother insists the ad was a joke, but authorities aren't taking any chances.  The 7 month old has been taken into police custody.

Come on, this was obviously a joke. 'Can be used either in a baby carrier or a stroller'? People, please open your minds when you open your ears.

If it was meant as a joke, it was in very poor taste.

Jokes in poor taste != genuine attempts at child trafficking.

i agree with diera. there is a large market out there for children for profit. Its not a joking matter.

It probably sounded like a funny thing at the time, but she should have at LEAST written something about it being a joke at the very bottom.

Please.

Don't you think that they would have asked more than one euro if this was a genuine attempt at child trafficking?
