Kid climbs into claw game to get prizes

Posted by Brett Singer

There's some debate on BoingBoing over whether or not this is real or staged. Either way, it's amusing.

One argument for it being staged is the fact that the parents are nowhere to be found. I don't think I'd let kids that age out of my sight long enough to climb into the game. I also didn't think the little door was big enough for a person, even a kid-person, to get through. Then again, I didn't think that my youngest son could reach the high shelves in his room, and I myself once managed to get soup on the ceiling while seated in a highchair. Children are nothing if not resourceful.

What made me laugh most about that is that the kid on the outside goes to get the mom and presumably says, "Susie is inside the machine!" And by the time the mom looked at the machine, Susie's legs were already gone inside. So she didn't believe him and walked away and was probably scolding him for telling lies.

It's pretty hilarious when her little head pops up inside!  I could totally see this happening.  The parents were probably in the checkout line.  The older kid was probably keeping an eye on the other one.  That little girl got in there very quickly!
