With all due respect,(and I'm sure you are very successful), I assume you are not in a position to become leader of the free world.

This is so partisan that it isn't even funny. If Obama or Biden had bad grades in high school, would you really claim that was a reason not to vote for them? In his autobiography, Obama even said he wasn't a serious student in high school and that he was experimenting with drugs. But that doesn't reflect the person he is today and neither do Palin's high school grades.

All of this Palin bashing on Babble is starting to look a little catty. Why are you only attacking the female candidate? Why do women always have to tear down other women?

Debate her views. Debate McCain's views. But don't resort to petty personal attacks on high school grades and the like.

Listen, I'm no fan of Sarah Palin, but I know from experience that just because you get bad grades in high school doesn't mean you're an idiot.

I don't really need to see Sarah Palin's report card to know that she's not an intellectual.

This isn't her report card, it's her SAT scores. Look more carefully. She got a 425 Verbal, 416 Math. I'm sorry, but those scores SUCK. She barely got over 800 combined out of 1600. She is officially the moron I thought she was.

As for McCain bashing, he got into Annapolis on his fathers reputation, graduated 4th from the bottom of his class and only wasn't expelled because both his father and grandfather were admirals. He is also a moron.

Oh good - I came here on this rainy cold Minnesota morning for some giggles and I got them... Thanks, Shannon (B in English - HA) and Margalit.  V. funny!!  Morons both of them.  Actually, at the risk of coming off as even more of an elitist than I already am (I'll admit that I am) - Margalit is totally right - I think getting just over 800 on the SAT qualifies a person for moron status... Or at least indicates a person who is frighteningly distractable over a three hour period.  (Seriously many of the "jocks" in my high school got 1000 on the SAT.  The reasonably "smart" kids got at least 1200.)  But what I really find freaky is her attendance at five (or is it six?) colleges in pursuit of a BA... I understand the need to transfer when it's not a good fit, but to ditch Hawaii due to rain and then sample several other colleges along the way?  Very flaky.  I appreciate that lots of people suck at academics yet are brilliant contributors to society.  HOWEVER most of those brilliant non-academics do not charge victims of sexual violence for their rape kits nor do they engage in deeply corrupt behavior at the state level.... At least most of the people with bad SAT scores that I know write poetry, garden or paint.  She should just go weave baskets (or knit baby booties.)

Since when is hard work considered elistist?  If you work hard you can be just a bit smart and still make straight A's.  You just have to work at it.  Palin went to 5 different colleges in 5 years to obtain a Journalism degree so she could be on TV.  Most beauty queens aspire to that goal.  She never worked on a college newspaper as most journalism majors do in the hopes they may become journalists.  She is all fluff and posing.  I have been around the pageant scene.  Full of young women who have nothing but their good looks and charisma. Obama was top of his class at an Ivy League college.  He was the editor of the Law Review.  He taught Constitutional Law.  I agree, I dont want an average thinker to run this country.  I want a genius who cant run circles around the enemy with their intellect.  I want a smart person who understands the law, the economy, medical issues, budgets.

Her grades and SAT scores are relevant because her apparent lack of formal education, her obvious lack of intellectual curiosity, her complete lack of interest in reading, and her poor language skills indicates a person who simply doesn't have the depth to be president.  

HS grades does count...some clain thet they dont  count becaus e they are from the past...same people talking aboyt ayres connection..that was way in the past

On a high school transcript, why is there a space for "Veteran"?  Sounds fishy to me.  Also -- it doesn't mention a specific class?  (Only 6 general ones.  For example, it says "foreign language" rather than which language it was.

I am sure this is a fake.  But everyone with an IQ over 70 knows Palin is a lightweight, a joke.  Even if she made Straight A's, in her population-7,000 town, she is still stupid.

Hey Bob, this high school report is not even the point. Palin has proven herself to be rather stupid in a couple of interviews and other appearances. I can't stand her based on her politics anyway, regardless of her level of intelligence. Still, I think her demonstrated stupidity is very relevant to this election. I am amazed at people like you, who would support a stump if it ran republican.

I also agree with  Manjari - this is unfair and one-sided. There needs to be more McCain bashing! Really, what's worse: electing an imbalanced, senile old man, or an imbecile?

But let's face it, it doesn't take brains to grasp right-wing ideology. Reagan and Bush taught us that the party philosophy is simple:

grades dont count, i didn't even graduate and had a 1540 on my SAT's. what does count is her obvious idiocy and the things she claims, the way she speaks and her inability to decide what's best for this country and stop running. she's the worst possible candidate imaginable.

Obama undoubtedly was NOT first in his class at Harvard Law--if the latter even ranks its student (NY Times says it doesn't).  Or magna cum laude for that matter...Why do his supporters keep propagating such claims, without evidence? If he was first he would have authorized release of his records, which he has not done for either Harvard or Columbia.  As the Times reported at the time of his election as president of the Law Review, Harvard Law School had such a strong affirmative action program at the time that blacks had a larger presence in its student body than in the population at large.  Thus, quite likely Obama would not otherwise have been in the program at all otherwise, a conclusion consistent with the fact he did not graduate with honors at Columbia (according to the NY Post).  So Obama is neither as smart as often claimed, nor is Palin so dumb as presented here (the authenticity of the report card is debunked by Snopes, which points out that Palin was in her high school honor society.  How many of the brilliant people who have posted here could hold their own against a veteran US Senator in front of 70 million people?  Let alone with only a few weeks prep?  Stick to the facts--and make sure they are facts...
