Now, I'm not judging you. I'm just curious.
I was having a conversation with another parent this weekend, and we both agreed that our children NEVER… STOP… TALKING. I guess they stop when they sleep. But it's also possible that they just don't do it when I'm in the room.
Anyway, we all agreed that there are times, no matter how cute and wonderful they are, when you just want them to BE QUIET for a few (dozen) minutes. Hence the question, have you ever actually told your children to "shut up" or used the stronger "shut the hell up"?
For my part, I don't think I've ever actually said the words "shut up" to my kids. I will admit that it is possible, but I'm fairly certain I managed to stick with "I need you to stop talking now for a couple of minutes." That actually works most of the time, and while things are quiet, I try and convince my brain to stop trying to crawl out of my ear and make reservations for a cruise.
So really, I'm not judging you, but I'm curious – "shut up" or no? Or maybe your kids don't TALK… ALL… THE… TIME…
