Taking a cue from the public service announcements touting the dangers of drugs, Moveon.org produced an ad for the new website McCainFreeWhiteHouse.org where teens, who are too young to cast their own vote, can warn their parents of the dangers of voting for McCain. “Talking to your parents about the risks of John McCain isn’t as hard as you think.”
The ad, which was directed by Doug Liman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Bourne Identity), features a slew of teens and young adults including Blake Lively and Penn Badgley of the hit show Gossip Girl, saying things such as “Talk to your parents about John McCain. For my sake? Please? Vote for Barack Obama. Before it’s too late.”
The website includes a "How-To" guide and a helpful list of "Warning Signs" to tell if one’s parents are at risk of voting John McCain such as “Being unable to accurately count the number of homes they own, cars they drive, or years the United States should remain in Iraq.”, “Referring to the past 8 years of American history as "The Golden Age.", and “Disparaging Spain for no apparent reason.”
