Overachiever Alert! 13-Year-Old Owns Business, Is a Motivational Speaker and Rings Stock Exchange Bell

Posted by SunnyChanel

What were you doing when you were thirteen? Did you have your own business? Did you do motivational speaking? Did you get to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange? Yeah, I thought not. But who did? Why 13-year old Long Islander Leanna Acher, teenager and over achiever. This spunky entrepreneur has her own hair care company aptly named Leanna, Inc., which she started when she was the ripe old age of nine. In her spare time, she does motivational speaking around the country. And today she became the youngest person ever to ring the toll of death the opening bell of the NY Stock Exchange.

What advice does she have about the financial crisis? “Stay positive," she said. "Be optimistic. If they're determined, if they keep going at it and really work hard, everything's going to be fine." Pretty amazing stuff for a thirteen year old don’t you think? She’s accomplished more than many twice or three times her age! *

(*I should mention that she doesn’t do it alone, her father helps run Leanna Inc. )

I've always hated these stories... Well, it helps that her family had this shea butter hair recipe going on for four generations, and it never occurred to anyone else to bottle it and sell it. Well, actually she started giving it to friends as gifts, and one of her friend's parents offered to pay for more. Aside from that, Leanna's bio alludes to her parents' lack of interest in or attention to her three different times. I guess ignoring your child is the secret to their success!

These stories all sound wonderful and heartwarming but it still takes a very rare and unique set of coincidences to lead to something like this happening.

In any case I hope that her products make for hair more attractive than her website: http://www.leannaarcher.com/

K...My goodness what nasty comments you have made about what a 13 year old?  You hate stories about a kid working on becoming a successful adult because why?  I'm floored?  Speechless actually.  You should be ashamed of yourself, acting like you are a jealous, envious 13 year old.    So what the recipe has been in the family for generations!  She was smart enough to finally sell it, kudos for her!    It's great that one of her friend's parents realized she had a money maker, more of us should show an interest in other people's children.  Have you ever heard it takes a village to raise a child?  You don't know anything about her family so you are judging them and assuming they ignore their child when it is obvious they don't, they just didn't know what they had in that product.

Life is all about luck, opportunity, action and oh, yes coincidences.

Finally, she has a couple of websites and while they are not the most attractive, again, she's 13 and she is learning what it takes to run HER business...lighten up and support the kid so she can become much more of a success and quit trying to kill her spirit!

Someone must have told you there was no Santa Claus or Easter Bunny when you were like 2 or something!
