I am a teacher, and I have been shocked at how many kids say they support McCain.  I think it has more to do with their parents' opinions than their own.  

It reminds me of four years ago when my sister heard her twins whispering in their room.  She went to see what they were doing and they were pushing their piggy banks under their beds.  She asked them why, and they said "We are hiding our money because Paisley at school said that if John Kerry wins, he will take everyone's money."  They were only 4 years old at the time.  I wonder who they would have picked in a poll at that point!

i think that most young people will vote for barak obama but what they dont now is they are making a big mistake i mean who would want a person who is going to rase taxes for higher class people and going to give money to the poor i now it sounds right that he wants to give to the poor but you know they didnt earn it and in my opinon i dont think its right that people with no money sit on there but and do nothing but yet he wants to give money to people that dont earn it i vote for john mccain and you know hes only 72 i think he can last four years i mean come on insted of packing on john mccain get a life

Barack Obama is not trying to give money to people who sit on their butt. He's trying to help people out who are either working at low wages and can barely afford to support their families and people who had jobs but were laid off because of the economy. Believe it or not, there are decent people in this world who want an education but can't afford it because their parents aren't wealthy or because they couldn't get enough financial aid. It doesn't mean that those people don't deserve an education or if they just have to work instead that they have to live in poverty and no one should care. It's very demoralizing to make a comment like you did assuming that everyone who is poor is sitting on their butt doing nothing looking for a handout. Highly disrespectful!

Like the saying goes..."the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer". This is not how America is supposed to be. We should all be working together. Like Obama said himself, he wouldn't mind paying a little bit more in taxes to help those who really need help. Would it really hurt the rich to pay a little more? NO. But people are selfish and greedy. I'm not the type of person that believes that as long as I'm doing well I could care less about other people who are in need. With this mindset, we will never move forward.  McCain lives in excess...why not help someone else for a change?

I would just like to say to the girl/boy taylor that both John McCain and Barack Obama would raise taxes. But, if you have seen recent polls "TAYLOR", rich people favor McCain over middle class people by, like, 40%. Do u know why this is, TAYLOR! It's because oldie locks is gonna take from the poor and give to the rich. You yourself are probably in the middle class. So, you or your parents, however old you are, will not have to pay higher taxes.(If you make less than 250,000 dollars). If you are rich, then I know why you think what u think. I'm 12 years of age, and I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!

I think that Ron Paul should be president because he believes that the peoples opinion should count and he wants to save money and lower taxes. He wants the world to be at peace with each other and not go to war. I bet most of you have never even heard about him, and that is because the government does not want him to be president, so they never talk about him. Try looking Ron Paul up on youtube and you will see why I would vote for him.

If that presidential candidate had been John McCain, you would have called it a major scandal and we would be getting stories in your paper every day about how incompetent and corrupt he was.

But instead, that candidate was Barack Obama, and so you have buried this story, and when the McCain campaign dared to call Raines an "adviser" to the Obama campaign -- because that campaign had sought his advice -- you actually let Obama's people get away with accusing McCain of lying, merely because Raines wasn't listed as an officialadviser to the Obama campaign.

THANK GOD FOR KIDS. THOSE WITH A POWERFUL, STRONG UPBRINGING KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR THEM AND WHATS BAD.  THOUGH IT WAS A CLOSE POLL AS IT WILL BE ON THE 4TH, KIDS MADE THEIR DECISION AND IT WAS FOR THE PERSON THEY DEEMED STRONG ENOUGH TO BE THEIR LEADER AND I AGREE.  IF WE TAKE ONE THING FROM THIS POLL OF OUR KIDS, OUR YOUTH, OUR FUTURE IT SHOULD BE TO GO INTO THIS WITH A CLEAR MIND AND MAKE A DESICISION BASED ON THE HOW WE WANT OUR WORLD TO BE TOMORROW.

I love that kids have "a strong upbringing" when they choose to vote for change and unicorns--I mean obama, but I am supposedly just lstening and regurgitating my parents points of view if I am choosing McCain. Why don't you give children a little more credit. I have been studying politics since I was 10 years old and chose the Republican side then. (Actually McCain himself the first time in 2000) I was 12 and my entire family voted for al gore. I'm sure the response will be that I was trying to be a rebel. But acknowlege the fact that children make their own choices. Not all children of course but not all children follow idly along with their parents either. Not like this obama robots chanting change.

I am a kid. Just an ordinary kid. I do have a smart thought,though. Kids are not stupid, and Obama is not a socialist. He is a half African-American,half white American, just like you and me. Also, kids aren't stupid because we know who would impact us bad or good when we get older. If Obama is a socialist, and American, wouldn't that make us all socialists? I bet you wouldn't want to be called a socialist, right? Also, that link, as my research has told me, is a right-wing internet periodical. I am not just some stupid kid. Nickelodeon asked the kids of America their opinion. They chose Barack Obama. We have an opinion, too. Your republican, and probably an adult.
