Back when we were all scrutinizing the clothing expense report coming out of the Sarah Palin campaign, we found a few things that made us tilt our heads and say, "huh." Like the 2T Ramones T-shirt. Why the Ramones? Why 2T? Why Sarah Palin (a question asked in oh, so many contexts ... but let's focus). It was difficult to imagine the Redneck Girl also playing air guitar to "Beat on the Brat."
Palin's personal shopper must have known something the rest of us didn't. That the Ramones, actually, just one Ramone widow, would soon be joining the McCain campaign. Linda Ramone, widow of Johnny -- a known right-winger and total Bush lover -- might be Meghan's best connection to what she calls her favorite band of all time.
As People magazine reported and as detailed on her campaign blog, McCain's daughter Meghan has spent the last few days with Linda in Las Vegas stumping for her father.
Sure, the 2T Ramones shirt could have been an impulse buy, or maybe it was for Linda to sign. Or maybe it was for Sarah Palin's brother, Chuck Heath Jr.. He was there campaigning with Meghan and Linda (that's him in the pic).
