Boy Tells 'Your Mom' Joke, Boy Goes to Jail

Posted by JeanneSager

The kid just crossed the line. The twelve-year-old told a seventeen-year-old on his bus that he'd been sleeping with his mom. So the older teen punched him in the face. Come on, who didn't see that coming?

The fight was broken up, but the older boy has now been charged with battery. It's true, violence is never the answer (I swear, I really do believe that) and the age difference here makes for a woefully unfair fight. But didn't these boys see this coming? You don't pick on someone's mom and not end up a bloody pulp.

Since giving birth, I have officially become skeeved by "your mom" jokes. Me + teenage boy = groooooosss. Is it too much to hope that they'll come up with something else to fight about by the time my daughter hits her teen years?

As you said, the fight was unfair, and violence shouldn't be the answer. But, c'mon! "Your mom" jokes are gross and perverse! I'm tempted to give kudos to the 17 y/o for "defending mom's honor."

Sounds like the 12 year old had it coming. I'm sure this kid has been mouthing off like this for awhile and someone finally got tired of it.

everyone in the world knows when you tell a mom joke youre busting on the person, not the mom.  and its equally as laughable that anyone thinks the 17 year old was defending his mom's honor.

Taunting an older kid by making fun of the person who has nurtured and cared for him since the moment of conception is not a good way to make friends.  Yes, the "yo mama" jokes are stupid and childish but in the volitle setting of a school bus they definately cross the line of acceptable behavior.

It's easy for us to be high and mighty from behind the keyboard, but everyone on that bus knew that if you're 12 and you bust out a "Yo Mama so fat, when I yell 'Kool-Aid,' she comes crashing through the wall" or "Yo mama so poor when she goes to KFC, she has to lick other people's fingers" on a 17 year old, you are going to get your butt handed to you.  Don't expect teenagers to be rational, especially in the company of other teenagers.
