Family Sues Over Free Playboy TV Access

Morons.

Free Playboy TV? What's the problem again?

Yes, yes, I'm a fifth-grader, but honestly, there is a far, far easier solution to this "dilemma" than a lawsuit. According to the Bourne family of Prudeville Pennsylvania, unauthorized access to the Playboy Channel is tantamount to "trespassing" on their property.

The suit claims "that Verizon failed to maintain “reasonable and proper control over its equipment” and unreasonably intruded on the plaintiffs' “right to physical solitude or seclusion.”

This is nothing but a money grab by this family, plain and simple -- because the easiest solution to this problem is to simply not turn on the Playboy Channel. (And use parental controls so your kids don't.)

Oh for God's sake, people -- if you don't like what's on your TV, TURN IT OFF.

It's so very, very simple.

And this is why america is sue happy. Use locks on your TV for channels you don't want children seeing.

i agree suing is stupid... but at the same time, we have a similar problem with comcast in PA - we randomly and occasionally pick up a porn channel... and the parental controls don't block it, and comcast can't do anything about it... i think our digital tv is just picking up a random signal or something... but it's annoying... am i going to sue? no. that's dumb. but when you don't want it in your house, it is annoying.

i hope these people are laughed out of court. Quit being dumb. Arent the porn channels in the 900's or something? You have to actually LOOK for them, they're not in between the cartoon network and disney channel.

I'm curious, Well, are you just randomly flipping channels and suddenly FoodTV is porn? Or do you have to surf past the porn channel for it to appear? Again, just curious.

Would we have the same laissez faire attitude if someone televised executions into our homes?  I have to agree, there should be limits.  You cant unsee something you have seen.  That garbage piles up in your mind. What if the husband is a sex addict?  This is the same as sending free samples of heroin to a junkie or bottles of gin to an alcoholic.

@well

Something like that happened in NY awhile back, where a porn channel came over the airwaves where it wasn't supposed to be - like on PBS or something (that's not to say it was PBS, but it wasn't on one of the higher numbers, and may have even been on a network). It was a glitch in that case.
