Skinny Jeans for Little Boys?

Posted by Cole Gamble

Ever worry your 6-year-old boy doesn’t have enough hipster credibility? Well slip him into some heroin-chic skinny jeans!

Recently Charlene over at Shine discovered this new fashion trend while jeans shopping for her son. At first, she couldn’t tell what she was looking at:

Could it be the fact that they looked like tights? Even better. They were skinny jeans for little boys. As in, size four and up. (They're apparently designed by snowboarder Shaun White, which I guess is supposed to make them cool?)

I honestly had to read the sign twice to make sure it said "Boys' Skinny-Fit Jeans." Yep. It did. And you could buy a pair for twenty bucks, which is like grand theft at Target because you can find normal boys' jeans for US$10.

My son is 2, so I’m feeling a little left out. Where can I turn to dress my boy up like Joey Ramone?

Nothing makes me madder than skinny jeans for little girls -- but this came close. It's impossible to play in these things!

ITA with you on this one, Mike.  The dressing little kids - usually girls - like little adults trend just grates.  They need to play, run and jump and they can't do that in skinny pants.  Yes, Old Navy, I'm looking at you.

Settle down folks! (Yikes)

Both my boys aged 3 and 4 own "skinny fit" jeans (Levis & Target, thanks) and love them. They can play in them easily, without the hassle of them falling down or being so baggy they get caught in anything. Kid's skinnies aren't at all skin-tight, by the way and just do happen to look rad with their vintage Star Wars tees that they also picked out.

You can't win with the jeans issue- write an article about super big G-Unit jeans or the like and get equal qualms...

Donna Karan has skinny black for boys. I have a three year old who is 41 inches and 32 pounds...This is a bony child and those pants are painted on him. However, they are very stretchy and he looked so stinking adorable with his chucks and button up shirt and skull and cross bones tie! My kid is way cooler than me and his father.

I have to say that everytime i see a teenager, or any male really, wearing skinny jeans, i get so mad. i think they are hideous looking. guys legs were not meant to be put on display like that. My fiancee wears tighter jeans, but they are far from looking like tights. When i saw the article, i thought it was so gross that they made these for toddlers. howeverrrr, i read what Amber wrote and i am almost considering going to buy a pair if i ever have a boy. I am totally into punk rock, and i promise you that my first son will have a mohawk as soon as he has the hair to do it... and i do believe the pants would go would with that, and some chuck taylors too. hmmm, i better have a boy soon, lol.

That sounds like the reverse parental demand, "Cut yer hair ya hippie!" Now it's, "Wax that mohawk, ya square!"
