A California woman expecting septuplets stunned her doctors during the birth of the boys and girls, born nine weeks prematurely. Teams of doctors and nurses had already done a practice run so that the seven babies could be rushed to ventilators and other medical support for their barely one-pound bodies.
After the seventh kid was pulled out, the doctors realized there was yet another baby tucked in there. An eighth! This mom becomes only the second woman in the U.S. to give birth to eight babies in one pregnancy.
Here's another little something-something I think is even more surprising than the surprise baby (at some point, don't you just lose track of the count?): she plans to breastfeed.
Hey, I'm not here to judge or elevate the status of or call crazy or whatever. So just let me say, "wow." Oh, and let me know where I can send her some nipple cream. Damn!
