Morning News: McCain Not an Adulterer, Still Not Tech Savvy

Posted by Madeline Holler

The New York Times has settled a lawsuit with Vicki Iseman, the blond lobbyist who looked a lot like Cindy that the paper all but claimed John McCain was having an affair with. There was a lot of outrage after the story ran in February and the claims that his relationship with her posed a conflict of interest never gained traction. Though no money changed hands in the suit -- which the Times is quick to point out -- both sides are claiming victory. The Times has given Iseman's lawyers space on the paper's website to make a statement.

But McCain's daughter is not letting her father -- or the GOP -- off so easily.

In Meghan McCain's Daily Beast column, she makes it clear that the GOP -- including her father's campaign -- are painfully, painfully behind the times when it comes to using technology to win elections. She also notes that Ron Paul (OMG remember him?) and his supporters were totally mind-blowing. Careful Democrats, she's determined to get the Republicans caught up.

The father who did get elected stopped at a gift shop in Canada, where he made his first foreign trip as president. What's he bringing back for Sasha and Malia? Maple Leaf cookies and key chains. Huh. Their dad's the president of the United States and all they're getting are ...

Really screwing things up for getting more troops into Afghanistan is Kyrgystan. The Parliament voted to give the U.S. 180 days to get out, which cuts off crucial supply lines to Afghanistan. This can't be good.

The New York Post has finally apologized for the outrageous Obama-as-chimp cartoon. The editor basically says he's sorry if it offended you, and then went on to blame the whole brouhaha on the paper's enemies. So are you sorry or not?

Why those ungrateful ... A new study  shows that if you or anybody else tells your teen to turn down the iPod, s/he are way more likely to turn it up. Oh, but didn't you sort of expect that?

McCain IS an adulterer.  He cheated on his first wife with Cindy.  Even if that marriage is strong now.  Call a cheater a cheater.

McCain admitted on national television that his greatest moral failure was the failure of his first marriage. He had the guts to own up to it himself, so calling him a cheater is kind of a waste of energy.

So is calling anyone anything, really.  But once you publicly admit to cheating on your spouse... a cheater is what you are.

I'm just eternally grateful I don't have to call this particular cheater "President McCain."
