Snow Day In NYC - First Time In Five Years

The Upper East Side sure has changed since yesterday... (photo: Brett Singer)Amazingly, today is the first snow day New York City has had in five years.

That's not to say there hasn't been snow in the Big Apple. Just that there hasn't been that much of it.

As I write this, I'm home with both kids. It feels like a weekend, but somehow different. First of all, I have work to do. But even if I didn't, there's something special about an unexpected day off from school. I think this kid agrees:



The notification was different from what I remember. In my case, it was a robocall -- the first time I ever was happy to get one of those. How did you find out about the day off? (I'm assuming that every kid on the East Coast has one today.)
