Database of Hospital VBAC Policies Released

Posted by Miriam Axel-Lute

If you're planning a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), you'll want to know about the International Cesarean Awareness Network's new database of hopsital VBAC policies (i.e. supportive, ban them, de facto ban because no docs do them...).

While the Our Bodies Ourselves blog notes a few small issues with methodology, it's a darn good start. I've heard of too many people learning too late that the hospital they were planning to go to wouldn't allow them to try VBAC.

Absolutely, this would all fall under good planning and preparation. Planning a VBAC requires careful discussion with your doctor and most certainly knowing what the hospital policies are.
