Keep This Kid Away From The Dog

Posted by Brett Singer

Is there anything cuter than a little child and his dog? Playing, laughing, enjoying the wonders of life.

Before you answer, you'll want to see the rest of this picture.

Mom, I was just... eh, screw it, I was drawing on the dog.

Oops. Looks like junior's got a little explaining to do. What's he going to say? The dog did it to himself?

I do wonder why whoever took this photo didn't stop the future tattoo artist. Maybe it was an older brother looking to get a bigger bedroom.

What a sweet dog. I would have taken the picture as long as my dog didn't care about it. Looks like washable marker.

My 3 yo daughter is a "budding artist" and I've come home from work on separate occasions to find our black and white short haired border collie all black (white filled in with a sharpie!), the white areas colored green, and the white areas colored pink.  He's even had his nails painted pink... He is SUCH a good dog and "knows" his place in our pack. And just to be clear, my dd was under the care of a responsible adult, not home alone!  :)

My daughter has taken to hitting and manhandling the dogs. It breaks my heart. They look at me with terror in their eyes whenever she heads their way. I would take the "art" over her grabbing their little packages :-(

i hope any dogs i might get act like that... my daughter is pretty good with dogs, mostly she likes to give them food. but i know she has a tendency to draw on anything that she can reach (and ps color wonder markers are a great investment).

And I totally would have taken that picture before stopping him and washing the dog off.

If my dog was white, I sooooo see my daughter doing this. Let's hear it for brown haired doggies!

It looks to me like the dog is enjoying it. It seems from my experience that animals that grow up around kids become incredibly tolerant of the all of the loving "abuse" that kids dish out. My daughter gives our cat the most squeezing of hugs and the cat never scratches her.
