Dad Robs Store with 9-Year-Old Daughter By His Side

Posted by SunnyChanel

It’s take your daughter to work day! At least for this Washington State Dad it is. And what kind of job does this Daddy have? Why, he’s dabbling in a career as a convenience store robber.

According to the Seattle Times, Robert Daniel Webb robbed a Ellensburg, Washington convenience store at gunpoint with his 9-year-old daughter at his side. His daughter, dressed in a cheery pink coat, is seen on video surveillance tapes right next to Dad as he pulls out a revolver and robs the clerk of $200. The undersherrif of the county said "I don't think I've ever heard of a little girl with her dad on an armed robbery. How anyone could endanger a child like that? You never know how someone is going to react when you pull a firearm out. How the clerk's going to react, somebody walking in? Absolutely can't even imagine it."

The man and his daughter are still at large.

How much harm do you think witnessing this crime will have on his daughter?

It saddens me when I see things like this. I don't even know what to say, I mean his daughter is learning who knows what, I mean her right and wrong perceptions must be so backwards. I just don't know what to say.

I heard an interview with the clerk who was robbed and his story is even sadder than the robber.

Someone had 32 cents in change on them?  And they dug it out to pay, along with a $20?  Just to get bills back?  Why bother?  If you had 32 cents, you likely still were going to have change left over, because how likely is it that you just happened to have exactly 32 cents?  So, if you still have change left in your pocket, what's the point of making sure you only get bills in return?  That fraction of an ounce weighing you down?

Rather than fiddle around for change at the counter where you either A) Slow everyone else down and quietly peeve them off or B) Hang around for way too long while the guy behind you is preparing to rob the store with a sawed off shotgun and his daughter in tow....I pay with plastic or just take the change and go and just toss my change in a big jar at home and cash it in once every couple of years and buy something fun with it.  Sure beats getting shot!  :)

And daughter....run away.  Find help.  Please.
