Life's a freakshow, especially when it comes to pregnancy and childbirth. Litters of a babies, babies having babies, gigantic babies, and, fine, Octomom and Thomas Beatie.
The Mirror has compiled a Who's Who of procreative and gestational oddities.
(1) Let's start with the world's youngest mother, Lina Medina, who gave birth in 1939. She was only five years old.
Medina's father took her to doctors for a lump in her abdomen. That lump was a baby -- Lina was seven months pregnant. Authorities immediately arrested the father for incest. The baby survived. Turns out, Lina had been getting periods since she was three years old. See? Freakshow! (Albeit a sad one.)
(2) Next, we have the world's largest newborn ever recorded -- 23.12 pounds, born in 1879 to Canadian Anna Bates. Sadly, the baby died 11 hours after birth.
(3) Tiniest surviving newborn ever is Rumaisa Shaik, who weighed 8.6 ounces at birth in 2004.

4) A Russian woman, known only as "the wife of Feodor Vassilyev," reportedly had a stunning number of children -- 69. This was all back in the 18th Century, so who knows if it's true. But the nearly seven dozen kids came from just 27 pregnancies. (Just! The Duggars are getting to me.) She had 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets and four quadruplets.
(5) Octomom. But after (4), she's kind of boring.
(6) The first pregnant man, too. Thomas Beatie, you know the story.
(7) The most babies from a single egg fertilized by a single sperm: the Khamsa quadruplets. They're identical.
